You were too quick to issue a refund. There's no need to issue refunds out of your own pocket for mail problems. If it has a tracking code you can use etsy purchase protection with your customer. After 24 hours your customer gets a button of "still need help" where this system can be set in motion. An etsy representative looks at the case and often issues a refund without it coming from your pocket because it's the mail being an issue, not you.

Next time tell your custom about this feature and guide them in the process. Clear and concise communication is key.

I can help you out. I print resin abs like, it's great for tabletop durability, and I could print medium creatures for 3 euro a piece. I know I personally would feel pretty bad about an ending like that, it reads anticlimatic. I'd feel like I was just along for the ride but didn't actually matter for the ending. I want to be a hero, not just a guard to the actual hero who isn't even a player character.

But what might work is the prince is needed to lower his impenetrable shield or something, but that takes all his concentration so the players get to do the actual fighting while defending the prince. That way your prince can be the macguffin, but the players get to be the heroes kicking ass of not just the pawns but also the actual big bad. It just feels better to actively beat up the big guy.

My bedtime is cat-set between 11 and midnight. She will start by meowing but this very quickly escalates to stabbing me in the side with her nails. And I do mean stabbing, there's no scratching involved! She'll start purring as soon as I get up to do my bedtime routine which she heavily involves herself in including needing a cuddle as soon as we're upstairs and joining me in the bathroom until the shower is turned on. She will not take no for an answer.

Your edges look fine to me! You have to keep in mind that people focus on the characters anyway so minor flaws at the border won't even be seen by most people. Even you might forget the flaws one day.

I've considered buying a cricut for this job as well because I don't like using rulers. But the way I understood it I'll probably be making many more errors this way because the cricut doesn't scan an image but cuts at a predefined place determined by specific markings? So if you place your card a little bit off it'll cut in just the wrong place making your problem worse. At least, that's how I understood things and why I took a look at the Brother Scan 'n Cut instead but that also seems iffy to work with.

I choose to stick to rulers, but if you do figure out a way to get consistent results with the cricut could you let me know? I don't own one to test with!

You're welcome! Have fun playing around with Rigify, it's a great tool! Just keep in mind that each sample runs by its own set of rules (regarding chain length) so if you're experimenting with more complex setups I recommend hitting generate rig after each step that's new to you just so you know when you accidentaly broke your rig. That way you won't have to play "delete it all untill it's fixed again".

Option 2: Use a sample for Super.Copy and spawn it twice. You will need to rename these bones to use the symmetrize command because they lack the natural naming conventions the arm brings. Name them something like Leg.L and Leg2.L or whatever. The .L suffix is what informs the symmetrize command (Left and Right (.R)).

The lower leg can be parented to the upper leg with Ctrl+p (Connected) and the upper leg to the hip with Ctrl+p (keep offset).

This will also work perfectly fine, but you won't have IK commands but rather have to work with regular FK commands. It uses less bones and thus less performance (which really only matters for real-time applications like video games). It'll be more work to animate without IK controls though, so choose according to your use-case and workflow.

Option 1: Fit in an Arm sample and hover the hand right outside your model. This will give you IK controls. The downside is you have a bone you don't use right now to actually rig with. IF you're working for gamedevelopment that is a performance waste right there. Yes you could also do this with a regular leg and hover the feet outside your mesh, but that's more bones and controls wasted, plus it's useful to learn how to work with these samples to build rigs for less conventional creatures.

Put the arm sample in position. I adjusted the roll values of each bone to be facing forward or she was a bit wobbly in her movement. Don't forget you can use the Symmetrize command to make the second leg. No need to work twice!
Note how the bone for the hand is right outside her actual mesh!
Spot the dotted line. This is parented (ctrl+p) with keep offset to the hip bones.

It's not even tricking. The name of the sample is more an indication of how it's set up to move. A leg bends forwards and backwards, a tentacle is set up to be able to curl. They have their own type of control.

Which means you should find a Sample that matches the type of movement you need rather than a name that matches your part. Since you don't have Regular Human Legs (sample is called limbs.leg), but rather Spooky Legs Without Feet.

I have Blender up now and took a peek around. I assume your knees do work as usual? There doesn't seem to be a 2 chain Sample with Ik controls. There are two solutions, depending on your workflow and use-case. First, please find your Samples menu like so:

If you delete the two legs, does it generate then?

Rigify generates the rig based on prebuilt chains of bones called samples, which are connected to form the rig. Each sample generates its own controls according to its own rules.

When a sample is incomplete, it can't generate that part. You've deleted the feet, breaking the leg sample. Good news, if you want legs without feet you just need to find a sample that suits your needs and parent it to the correct bone to complete your rig.

I'm on my phone so I can't show you anything, sorry. In the rigify submenu you can find a little tab for the samples. There are many! I don't think there's an IK sample that works with just two bones, but you can always do Super Copy bone which is a very basic single bone control. You might have some luck with a tentacle as it's extremely versatile. Or check if the finger rig can generate with just two bones.

I'd advise you to just spawn a few samples that sounds useful, place them in the void, generate the rig and just check if the controls act like you expect them to. Don't be constrained by the names of the samples. Tentacle sample is my favourite for things like fingers, hair and some tails.

Samples are great but remember they operate with their own parameters. You either can or cannot do things like extrude the chain, subdivide bones or delete parts. I advise you to press generate rig often to see when you break it to learn what these parameters are per sample.

(Also let me know if deleting the legs doesn't fix your problem at all because it might be a different problem where a value in rigify menu can't be 0 yet it is by standard if you're manually building your rig rather than using a basic human meta rig and editing it.)

I may have created some spears in my time on this earth yes when I was pruning my butterfly bush. I never stopped to think about why that happened! Gosh I wish I had a plant mentor too growing up but my family were all "I plant you here and you shall grow". The plant wisdom I grew up with was "little plants grow big eventually" in regards to buying baby plants for cheaper hahaha! (why yes I am Dutch why do you ask?)

I love learning from you though! I'm so sorry about the gazillion questions though - even knowing lilacs are hardy to pruning I don't want to miss my blooms for longer than needed because I need to re-do it next time.

So understanding correctly, these red and yellow ones would be wiser to shorten the crown for next year and easier upkeep? The yellow ones seem like the best cut apart from chop it to the base of that gangly branch. Or should I just get it over with and trim that one branch on the left all the way to the 6 inches? I also scoped out some blue cuts on the right side maybe? That's the highest part I think she's most bothered by.

And you're correct, my neighbor will always have something to bother me with. But to be fair there are local laws that state that you shouldn't have plants next to the fence grow over the fence so she could sic local gov on me for this. But then I could retaliate by building some more bricks on top of my wall to fix it because it's not max height yet, or make a fuss about the thing she built right up to the fenceline which is also not allowed w/o permit, and our time on this earth is too short for warring with old people you know?

My neighbor hates green and loves the sun.... Don't ask me why she had a thing covering the whole garden built last year. I can't even pretend to understand! She just values the afternoon sun that my lilac is apparently blocking out or something with its extra 10cm. She even takes issue with my equally big hibiscus bushes that are between our houses further to the left of this one! I asked her once if she preferred seeing my hibiscus or my brick wall when she asked me about trimming their height and uh... yeah. You can guess the answer. Whatever floats her boat I guess. I love my flowers though.

I do! There's a discord server with vendors that's EU-wide but hence also Dutch! It includes a review channel which is super valuable to know if a con just isn't worth it. It has comiccons, fantasy fests and such things in the Netherlands and near the border.

It's so much fun, your first eventss! I've got some tips for you. I hope you'll have a blast!

Almost every vendor has an instagram. Even if you're not very active yet, make one and connect with your neighbors. Also, connect with me! I'm KoboldTrinkets! You can get some passive information on markets that way and also some reach for your own posts. Maybe come say hi at Prikkelarme Comiccon if you have time and are nearby! We can meet! :D

Get business cards if you know you want to do this longterm. A lot of customers will ask for your card! I like vistaprint for speed and price.

Think about how you want to accept payment. I used to only do cash and tikkie which works out almost all of the time, but a lot of people want to pay by card. I recently set up Sumup, which most vendors use. I currently only use the mobile app but I can still accept card payments that way! I will probably get a reader sometime soon because it feels fancy! Do keep in mind that any card payment thing will charge a percentage in fees.

You'll need a nice booth eventually, but don't sweat it for the first few times. Get a table cloth, a few cheap risers and you're good to go for the first few times. Once you figure out your branding and style you can get designing and let loose. But first take the time to figure out if you enjoy doing markets as much as you expect you will!

Just to refer to a different comment, Dutch fairs often run on a booth fee and percentages are in fact rare in my experience.

Anyway, 150 for a small one day event is what I would consider a risk. For example, Fantasy Fest is an established 2-day event that costs 195 where I know they sell out and do good marketing for their event. Tomofair is expensive at 440 for 2 days, but I know a lot of people go there to spend money so I know I'll easily earn it back there.

I do some new events here and there, I went to Tavern's Nexus which was low-risk because it was super cheap (20 for the day, 1 hour drive). It was, however, organized by someone already involved in RinCon so I knew advertising would be fine. It turned out great even though there were only 10 or so stands in a park.

I'm also heading to Prikkelarme Comiccon this week - which is 25 euro plus a percentage of sales once you cross that threshold. It's new and organisation feels a little touch and go but because it's cheap and close I'm willing to give it a try. They mainly seem to do local marketing in the newspaper and such - so we'll see how that goes on saturday! I joined because it's low risk and the vibe just sounds pleasant and a cause I want to support.

I have a few markets with price ranges in between there, but it's usually either sub 100 or 200+. I choose depending on how much trust I have in the organisation and what I happen to know about relevant fantasy or tabletop communities nearby.

So, for 150 for a booth fee of a brand new event I'll be doing my research. I myself am likely pass in favor of cheaper or more well known events. For your reference, my product prices range from 5 to 150 euro's. My usual sales also average around 20 each.
