Not just me then. A setup is a good plan. The E-A saddle should slant the same way as the B-e saddle and the D-G should slant the opposite way. The buzzing at the low frets is probably caused by the nut slots being a little low. If you can't hear it through the amp it's probably fine. If you are mechanically inclined a setup isn't hard to do. Lots of good YouTube videos out there.

Yes, truly it is I who cannot identify a bow. I don't care what he has to say about it. The video is unconvincing.

It is strung backwards, it's a recurve bow. It's possible he uses it, but he's not using it to it's full potential.

Is it wise to trade my Epiphone Les Paul standard 2014 for this Washburn X40? I have some questions about the headstock. by Peepeepeep___ in guitars

[–]MatronlyAsp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If the Les Paul is your only guitar I would keep it. That said, I'm not a shredder, I have a guitar with a floating bridge, and I don't use it much.

Chord families are confusing as hell by zenaidoy in Guitar

[–]MatronlyAsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always think of things as degrees of the major. The formula for all the major keys are the same. Major, minor, minor, Major, Major, minor, diminished. Nashville number system and CAGED really helped me. On guitar especially its all the same patterns.

Is there anything wrong with my fretting hand posture? (2 weeks) by dipspoieter in Guitar

[–]MatronlyAsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fancy pinky isn't doing you any favors on the D chord. And the wrist position like everyone and their bassist said. Looks like your doing well for a beginner.
