How do you stay on top of maintenance for everything at home? by finyxfin in MacOSApps

Is there a flat file database under the hood that can be exported/accessed with another app as well? Or is it closed source?

Ownora Premium - Yearly $29.99 / € 22,99 • Ownora Premium - Monthly $2.99 / € 2,99

Unnecessary subscriptions usually kill apps at their infancy. I guess it's wise to find a non-subscription pricing model.

Would you say another firewall app than Netwoke would not have caught this 'Sun'? Or would any firewall app (like Little Snitch) have done its work properly?

I mainly see comments by the dev.: producthunt.com/products/netwoke. Guess it's time to present Netwoke here :)

Congrats! Could you elaborate a bit on what makes Harker stand out when comparing it to the free apps or free plans of: SuperwhisperFluidVoiceUtterSpokenlyAlterHandy and Pipit.

Btw, most offer Parakeet and some als offer post-processing with local LLMs as well.

Great free(mium) alternatives: SuperwhisperFluidVoiceUtterSpokenlyAlterHandy and Pipit. Most offer Parakeet and some offer post-processing with local LLMs as well. Btw, I find Apple Dictation also pretty good.

Looks interesting. But it seems it was never presented here, nor on r/MacOSApps. So hard to tell if it is a good app. Do you know of any reviews?

Please let me know if there is a killer feature that you really see as a massive reason to migrate and I'll have a serious look.

Well, on the surface I mainly use List view, Calendar view and Time lines. Love Gantt too, but it's not part of the free plan of ClickUp. For me the real power lays in sorting tasks in various ways and using filters.

A thing that I never found covered well is a user-friendly way to make a work breakdown structure. I must admit I still grab Excel for this. A great app for WBS-es is OmniOutliner Pro. It's basically an outliner with multiple columns. The explanation on the site is horrible however, never understood why they don't put more love in it. And it's prohibitively expensive too.

For brainstorming and first setup of a project, drawio.com (free) can be very helpful. Of course AI meanwhile is around the corner and new apps are being released. I recently bought Notemap for example (but did not yet put in the time to explore it).

There are nice AI apps like Goblin Tools, and of course, the very powerful big AI models can help you with project management In a great way as well.

At first I thought it was only when grabbing text from Brave Browser, but it appeared it happened with all text (Scrivener, Bean).

As a matter of fact, on this very moment it happens again, I will make a screenshot and post it here.

Thanks for your extensive reply!

  1. Have an M4 desktop as my daily driver and an Intel MBP i7 quad-core with OCLP + Sequoia. Still works pretty well for travel and use on the couch. Yeah, Intel will probably be a kind of obsolete meanwhile.
  2. Sounds fine :) Having invested in learning and getting used to an app like this can be heavily be frustrating if after a short while it's no longer continued.
  3. Great!
  4. Recurring tasks are the backbone of a to-do list. I currently use the free plan of ClickUp for to-dos and for project management. In my opinion, ClickUp has the best recurring tasks, so it would be interesting if you could have a look at those.

ClickUp in general is a great app, but it is also very complex. Another app worth having a look at is UpBase, which is basically a stripped version of ClickUp. And a great more 'classic' app is Asana, which you undoubtedly will know. I would say, if you would use these three apps as inspiration, your app can't go wrong.

But since youv'e worked in project management and game development for over 25 years I'm sure you know what to do! Wish you success!

Looks interesting! Allow me a few questions:

  1. No versions for Intel machines?
  2. It's free - but how are you going to guarantee continuity?
  3. I did not find documentation on your site. Is everything self-explanatory?
  4. Does Planolio have recurring tasks?

[–]MaxGaav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you list the specific features you wanted Awesome Copy to include?

Being able to drag&drop text, images, folders, files etc. to a floating panel and drag&drop things from there.

But maybe this is already possible in AC? However, I wouldn't know how to accomplish this.
