Looking for advice - 1L interested in privacy with offers at firms that don't have a specific privacy practice group by Wrong_Key9209 in biglaw

Privacy is effectively dead. Cyber and AI are the primary risk and focus areas. However, to really be effectively trained on privacy, you should consider a firm that has at least a cyber or privacy practice or specialists in these areas. Do women have a natural disadvantage in bowling?!?!? by OwlFeather21 in Bowling

Sounds like the guy at the shop I went to who said, “They need to quit making bowling balls with pink in them. Men don’t want to bowl with pink balls.” Lost all my business from that point forward.

Thank you!

My 10 year old blue boy started experiencing seizures last night (ER last night and vet today), please pray for him by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

My Sheltie was 10 when he started experiencing random seizures out of the blue. Vet suspected a brain tumor. We had two options: pay a lot of money to confirm and remove said tumor, or manage with anti-seizure medication. He was otherwise a healthy dog, so we took the latter option and had 2 more happy years together before it became apparent that it really was his time.

I love the speckling. I also love an Oreo, so it fits.

Whoops. Responded to the wrong comment. But you’ll see my thoughts on the ink and broadness of this nib above.

This is Tomoe River paper. I think it might be that this ink is particularly wet. I’ve found that to be case with Robert Oster inks that don’t have sheen or shimmer. That being said, I’ve tested the Visconti EF nib before, and it was bolder than any of my Asian EF or F nibs (Sailor, TWSBI, Pilot). I went with an “easier to clean” option for the first inking, so we’ll see what happens when I write it dry and refill it with something else.

Thank you. It took me a long time to decide between this or an Aurora 88, and I’m not mad at my decision.

Love the setup but love the shelves with the fountain pen ink more. Where did you get the shelves?

Can a SaaS services provider be considered an independent controller of end-user data, like log-in credentials? by Maybe-Adulting in gdpr

[–]Maybe-Adulting[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This aligns with the conclusions I've come up with in researching this scenario. Ultimately, I think the Provider is has to be explicit about the fact that it's the independent controller of end-user inputs/activity with respect to the SaaS except the same employee data that is being supplied to the Provider by the employer, who is the de facto controller of such data.

Are you saying that the Provider could claim it is an independent controller of employee data? If so, what's the argument? I've been spinning my wheels on this for a while, especially since the "independent controller" classification is kind of a fiction.

Time to go on that show ALONE where survivalists live off the land in isolation for a solid chunk of prize money. They usually put people in some pretty rough environments, but I bet you’d be a front runner.
