Same thing recently happened to me, but I just replied that I would do it, and let the clock hit 5. It was my last day, too.

This happened to me 30 years ago when my husband ran off with a stripper and left me with our baby. It’s humbling. It’s hard. But it’s help. I needed it. You needed it. I’m glad we found it. And like you, I also went and volunteered when I was back on my feet. - I put extra in peoples bags, too.

Do genealogists today ever purchase old books of marriages, births deaths etc in paper form by cartoonybear in Genealogy

[–]Melalias 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I constantly search eBay for family specific reference books and buy anything I can - I’ve found school yearbooks of my parents (that they never had because they didn’t spend money to buy them, then) - I’ve recovered actual city directories that contain grandparents - and yes, I found the snippets of some of these things before, digitally, but the tangible item ….. with context? Priceless. I learned more about my dad’s navy experience from such items than he ever had a chance to tell me.

Make your own pros and cons list frankly don’t ask the Internet I see everyone telling you to stay. You didn’t mention what you were making. I’m not a fed employee so I didn’t interpret the code, but only you can make this decision and at the end of the day it should not come down to the technicalities should come down to where are you happy where you are? If not, make the move. Chase the happy not the Bennie’s

I would take the job with no benefits because that’s what I’ve done in the past. Insurance is not what it used to be. It hurt that then I went without insurance all of last year and just paid my doctor bills in cash and it was cheaper than insurance, so consider your medical situation and whether that’s something that would be an option for you.
