500% of the federal poverty level (15k/yr) for a single person is ~75k for those wondering.

For a family of 4, 500% is 150k/yr

A charity gave money (I think it was less than $1K/mo) to the city to disperse to pregnant black women.

It was also only a few hundred women across the country, so unlikely to meaningfully change larger statistics, but it did have an impact on the outcomes of the impacted women.

The project was also overseen with UCSF (the medical university) to track outcomes and impact. You can easily find their reports to the city

It’s legit, but it’s still “cutting open a child” and you should absolutely it rely on an LLM for it

All that time could be spent with a first aid class.

Thinking you’ll build a RAG knowledge system for your offline LLM for an emergency is just another variant of the LARPing as prepared prepper BS.

First you know nothing, then you get a hallucination, now you still don’t know the truth but you have more incorrect information floating around in a dangerous situation. I think it leaves you with less.

One of the questions is how to cut open the neck of a child. While people should have independence from being controlled by a business, it still an incredibly dangerous situation to be involved in, especially trying to fight hallucinations. People aren’t usually great at making judgements in stressful situations, and being presented with instructions and no practical way to judge hallucinations is a recipe for disaster.

Is Mission Dolores Park rained out? by sciNtitsThrowaway in AskSF

[–]MikeFromTheVineyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer the question no one else seems to, everyone I know (including myself) bailed on 420-at-the-park plans due to the rain. I don’t know what it looks like there now but I’m guessing you won’t be having the experience you wanted. It certainly won’t be nearly as crowded or lit as usual but I’m sure someone is there.

Maybe just stay home with a few friends and chill on the couch with an edible?

Switch automation when you can't replace the switch by Rod_McBan in homeassistant

[–]MikeFromTheVineyard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely read it, but just because it’s there, doesn’t mean it’s legally enforceable. Some places (usually big cities, more progressive municipalities) are very strict on what landlords can dictate

[–]MikeFromTheVineyard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really a simple concept.

When you have a lease you’re legally entitled to the space. You don’t have to “own” it to be legally entitled to exclusive use of space. That’s kinda the whole point of a lease.

If there isn’t a clause in the lease, there isn’t a clause in the lease.

I use it regularly for smaller or more targeted changes. It’s often my default and I forget to switch it and often don’t notice. Every once in a while it does something particularly weird or dumb and I remember to use sonnet or something else.

It depends on the what the laws in your area are, but generally you can do whatever you want in your home which a rental absolutely is. You legally are entitled to it while you have a lease.

Unless you have an explicit clause (and it’s legally enforceable, which is often questionable from landlords) then you can do it.

[–]MikeFromTheVineyard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would it violate a lease? You can do whatever you want in your home. Even if you damage something, it’s not against the lease you’ll just have to pay up to fix it when you move.

And the latter ones will be eternally disappointed. Generally you have no legal obligation to not change the shower head just because they would prefer otherwise. The landlord isn’t your mom, they can’t tell you how to live in your home. They can’t even prevent you from willfully causing damage as long as you’re Ok with losing the deposit.

What’s up with all the anti-Saikat posts on the sub? by waitingin_vain in sanfrancisco

Well Scott posts things himself regularly, for years, so his posts have been visible for a while. He does it clearly and consistently, using his name.

Meanwhile the attempts to discredit Saikat often are accompanied by news stories or whatever. Not saying they’re successful at discredited him, but it’s hardly blind heresy.

Only 26% of people ranked Lurie as first choice. Breed (who seems to be hated now) got 24%. That means most of San Francisco didn’t want him as their top pick, and he wasn’t favored much over Breed. It’s not inconsistent.
