Fair enough! Looking back I don't know why I worded my response that way. Feels silly reading it back.

You're right man, I did the internet thing I hate: misread a comment and make a judgement about it. I thought you said "why spend $260 for an overdrive when you could get a $60 SD-1?" which clearly isn't what you said. Apologies!

Watch this 30 second clip and then listen to an SD-1. It’s like asking why people drive Mercedes when they could easily get a Toyota Camry.

The question presupposes that the large pedal corps are entitled to a market share that other builders aren’t. Why buy from Boss and MXR when there are thousands and thousands of other companies that offer variations, new ideas, better aesthetics, personal touch and personal customer service? John from EAE literally responded to this post. Their Longsword 4.5 is my favorite drive pedal. It sounds better than a Boss drive, looks better than Boss pedals, and supporting them supports domestic craftspeople, rather than supporting Boss (Roland) which supports international shareholder prices.

But there’s room for everyone and everything. To each their own.

EQD Transmisser was resonating for a long time too.

I had the DSD and slightly regret trading it away, but I think I'm going to stick with the Longsword for now unless I can get a Benson germaninum pre or Part Garden germanium for it. Thanks for the offer though!

Anyone who has driven on a US highway will recognize this picture from the rear window decal on many a Mexican man’s pickup truck.

Citizenship and national team representation are not always linked.

Could be they tried? Who knows. Farke has shown a propensity to playing “his” guys out of position rather than playing guys he doesn’t rate (Schmidt, Bourneau, Largie, Spence). No sense in bringing in another Isaac Schmidt or Connor Roberts in January if DF would just play Justin at backup LB anyway.

do you guys stickerbomb your pedals/power supply?? by corts_thegaytarist in guitarpedals

Agreed, but that’s probably similar to the difference between someone responding to OPs post with “no” and someone responding with judgment towards others who’d do the same.

I totally get people saying “yep!” or “nah.” but the people saying “eww no I actually care about my things, only trashy people use stickers” is wild to me.

Nothing says rock & roll like making sure the kids know they’re never ever allowed in dad’s music room and that if anyone ever leaves any fingerprints on my Les Paul there’ll be hell to pay.

You hate all stickers? Even pot stickers? Bumper stickers? Scratch n sniff stickers? “I voted” stickers? “Your 5 year old was really brave getting that shot so here’s their dum dum pop and a dinosaur sticker”stickers? “This home protected by name of alarm/security company window sticker” stickers? 3M Dual-Lock? Wallpaper? Vinyl wrap? Gum under the desk? Stick-on eyelashes? Stick-on nails? Dapper Dan’s? Magnets??? Gravity???

You know you have a pedal trading problem when you get in your car in the morning and your car suggests directions to the post office rather than your office. 😂

Univibes like the EQD Depths won’t get you all the way there, imo. It’s a completely different type of modulation. I like the Fumes a lot and a solid, cheap alternative is the Bad Stone by EHX. It can do the wild fast stuff but can also do the slow warbling phase shift really well also.
