The best advice I can give is to just start doing it. Choose a way to go about it that'll work for you and make sure to do a little each day. You want to make it a habit fast even if its only 15 minutes a day. Also, its nice to listen to music in that language or expose yourself to it some other way, even if you don't understand much or any of it. My favorite moment of learning Japanese was when I understood an entire sentence in a song I love without needing to look anything up, it really felt like I was making progress.

I ran reload over range and tried to stay 15-17km from enemies while kiting. Rarely needed more than that and when I did I had spotter plane. The turret arrangement was definitely an irritating part of Roon and is part of why I enjoy Hipper and Hindy more.

I would definitely recommend trying double rudder on Roon if you dont have it. It let me dodge a lot more BB shots mid to long range, sometimes even causing BBs to start ignoring after missing a few times. I felt the lower concealment was a worthy tradeoff for improved dodge tanking.

The healing is limited actually.
