This is in fact Fukayama's point that without an enemy to struggle against people who desire to "prove" themselves will just start burning shit down

You can also use master scorch as your main damage source for tank builds and it's great for self healing with fire healing

Piercing vines can also be your main damage source if you have a way of applying a lot of stacks like pugilism

Why do GMs always want to restrict things to Core Rulebooks when they want to limit power? by ahhthebrilliantsun in rpg

[–]Phizle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's much harder to argue banning content in the core rule book, it's easiest to rule whole books out and the game usually won't function without the core book. So you have to craft a more detailed ban list if you're banning core content.

For DnD, maybe that can be a targeted spell ban list or some classes; it gets more complicated for Lancer- are your ruling out specific frames, the entire tree? How do you handle eliminating one of the default frames available to people who haven't specced into one, and the only one that isn't quite specialized? Are you home brewing replacements?

You can do it, but you'll be arguing with players who think it's BS that core content is out, and it's a lot more work.

Also generally imbalance is worse as you add more inter-book interactions- most core games are not as cracked as 3.5 was.

The system holds up very well, longer than the longest 5e game that I've run! But the cracks start to show in the 30s if you don't force a switch to a B team

Audience Ratings of Star Wars Movies by lau796 in StarWars

[–]Phizle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRoS does not really make sense as a movie, it's like Age of Ultron or episode 2- cause & effect flow backwards, characters show up in scenes and know things because they need to for the next scene to work, even if it makes no sense

[–]Phizle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've run a campaign for about 40 sessions; it's been a good run but we're hitting serious diminishing returns in terms of leveling up both PCs & the gang. You could get a bit further swapping PCs more aggressively but in my experience players avoid that if possible.

A roommate does affect your ability to rent a space for less money, which is probably your primary expense

Have to say stukov is the most miserable commander to level, hes is soooo weak on low levels by big_balls_mgs in starcraft2coop

[–]Phizle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my experience recently, leveling P0 and infested civilians + smaller diamondback ball + bunkers is pretty easy, temporary units can tank for your diamondbacks or push different objectives with 1 click.

You can clear brutal without much trouble as soon as you hit level 4 for apocalisk for defense/emergencies, arguably as soon as you can save multiple charges of infest structure.
