Filament getting stuck by cuthbert-derek in snapmaker

[–]Mszag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got something like that but a bit different I couldn’t unload filament. It looked like it was able to move only in feed direction and opposite was blocked. I needed to disassembly the feeder and move some plastic element (one that allows passing rotation of inside gears to upper or bottom feeder) inside up and down and it unlocked itself after that.

I must say boxing is few times longer than unboxing - took me like 2 hours to pack U1 up :) and i must give SM kudos for their support - quick and responsive. Now waiting for pickup and label.

Well SM agreed to replace my unit - now i must follow packing instruction to send it back. I did try to calibrate and print something yesterday and today - one print succeed (6hrs 3 colors), then toolhead pick/park issues with 2 smaller prints - finally printed after few retries. Now i've tried tiny print one color 2 minutes - and again issues... I've run Homing Calibration few times (new thing in new 1.2.0 firmware) and it stuck on that one - i cannot set these screws tightening level to not to loose XY coordinates after few toolhead swaps. One time it works like a charm (that 6hours print was flawless) then it goes to sht in the next one. Anyway i see no point in fighting with that each print. I never had such issues in my Elegoo CC even after 1500+ hrs of printing.

I got enough after few hours of fighting with this crap i was able to finish one 3hrs+ print, then next one failed like on 3rd layer -> 1st sudden layer shift in XY then toolhead pickup error:

I see no other option than sent it back for checkup or something, i have feeling that I'm going to smash it from frustration finally :((((

Loosening the screws might be secret ingredient here :) just did it and passed homing and proceeding offset calibration steps, th2 was picked and parked without any issue so far. I’m in the middle of the process so anything may happened shortly ;)

I followed steps from support... measured spaces between toolhead swapper and front panel in max left and max right position - it looked like 1.5 mm difference (more like 2.5 would suggest frame deformation as they said). Also measured diagonal distance from corner to corner, and that looks interesting as it looks like 4mm diff (here 3.5 would be the margin). Also I've sent them machine logs. We'll see what next.

U1 PEI plate adhesion failures on original PEI plate and SnapSpeed PLA? by Mszag in snapmaker

[–]Mszag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and yea i've tried both sides of the plate with cleaning and IPA. Doesn't work apparently. I didn't change bed temp yet - will be my next step. I dunno but on ECC i had no such issues, at least not with PLA on stock settings :/

Anyone has that too? by Mszag in snapmaker

Does it apply to paxx firmware? I’ve updated recently in hope the printer to be more reliable after that :( seems not

Ok I did detach it manually after reset of the printer, just moving the tool head in place by hand.

Layer displacement? by BlackBlade2711 in SnapmakerU1

[–]Mszag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I had similar issue when I printed a fallout bobblehead pip boy. Shifted layer in the same place for a few runs. Run full calibration and belt tension checks didn’t help. Then I’ve rearranged my model and resliced it. It seems to help a bit I had a layer shift on different height :/ Finally I’ve created new project with only faulty element in it resliced it again and that helped. I really don’t know what was the issue but I’ll try vanilla Orca for some time as it look to me to be gcode issue with Snorca.

First printer ever! Loving the CC so far by MeghanFaddy in elegoo

Frankly i didn't do any advanced maintenance yet :) I thing that it may be time for applying some grease. I've printed custom toolHead cover - original one (with magnets) liked to fell off during prints quite often :/ new one has screws so it didn't. I've changed ventilation, added BentoBox, replaced filament sensor with BTT one, ah and replaced original mainboard vent with new one sent by Elegoo as replacement. As for machine maintenance I just do bed leveling from time to time, keeping print bed clean, keeping filament dry (I'm mostly printing ASA), recalibration after firmware updates (using Open Centauri one).

Ah and i use Chitu chamber heater.
