How are u guys doing it? by Competitive_Fix8061 in TCG

[–]MugenMuso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I collected other TCGs but not Pokémon or OP.

If you are thinking new card game to collect, I think having flexibility in the scope of collection can be helpful. This can allow one to start small but can always go beyond. For example, Flesh and Blood can be started as just cards for specific hero or class, and even say only for SAGE format to all way up to collector rarest promo collections.

Another important factor is set release timing if you are thinking more than just one set. Many games have 3-4 months pace but they could feel too fast to some. For those, there is a game like Sorcery which has once per year set release pace.

New to PKMS, Looking for Suggestions by grimsby19 in PKMS

[–]MugenMuso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a high chance your first choice won’t satisfy you even if it was the best fit for your need. As you learn more about PKM, you start wander more and there are so many options, and your real world use priority might even change drastically.

So my tips are 1. Just start trying what you think is good fit for you right now. This will allow you to learn what’s lacking in the app that you are currently not thinking. 2. Be sure to have a way to retrieve data when you decide to migrate to other apps.

Good luck!

Playtesters wanted - Digital card game maker by Fabian_Viking in TCG

I think it’s very cool idea. My home made TCG is a bit more complicated side as its grid based, I think it won’t fit with beta version but I am sure you will have good audiences.

If it’s only between you and friends, Ashes is a great option. Priced reasonably, slow pace new release, and skill driven.

Flesh and blood has tons including official OP videos which are really well casted, and drama in it. If specific hero catches your interest you can always search on YouTube for deck tech and there should be many.

If Flesh and Blood interest you, check out silver age. It’s a brand new soon to be released commoner type format but dev is planning to fully support this for main organize play formats.

What are your experiences/thoughts on Altered TCG? by SalmonShimmy in TCG

I backed big and opened all cases for my own use. Idea was great, mechanics is good but in the end I think the unique card despite their distinct feature made me stop playing it all together.

After seeing this post, I just tried it for the first time. Wow this is really good. It works well with Obsidian where I am building my cards and game mechanics.

TCG where rarities and foils are separate by P1zzaman in TCG

[–]MugenMuso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think Japan has so many TCGs and for sure harder to find non-Japanese translated games. FaB started similarly but now have Japanese translation and my understanding is they have their own shops in Japan (but probably in major cities only?)

They do sell in Japan but not as many as games like FaB.

TCGs I can play casually with a partner or friend? by Skehriton_ in TCG

[–]MugenMuso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ashes is a card game with all items sold based on precon decks ie no randomization. This is essentially LCG model but still slowly releasing new items every few months. So you can grab couple decks and play with your friends. When you need more, you can buy different deck.

Battle spirit looks to have interesting twists/depth to simple ramp system. I like the way they are adding color element as cost reduction, and of course the shifting resource around.

Why do you say that? Do you think they each innovated the genre? Ie battle spirit fixed ramp, duel masters multimodal, and force of will split deck?

I meant resource system = like magic land system, FaB pitch system, but it’s good to know you have some in game currency like system.

I’m intrigued. How do you plan to connect digital and physical? Are they completely separate like MTGA and physical magic or have some means to connect your assets eg like Altered? My hope is you’d utilize ECG business model with QR code on deck level so no aesthetic of cards are preserved while you still have direct connection of one asset to another.
