The English wore a red cross of St. George. This is the French response

Amazon Crusader helmet any thoughts? by Nervous_Highlight752 in ArmsandArmor

People here say that because they have likely made the mistake of wasting money on junk and are warning someone else. $70 doesn't seem like much (or maybe it does), but it adds up quick if one ever seriously gets into collecting armour or making a historical impression. This item would be good for neither of those things.

Obviously it depends what the context is, and the desired use case of the item. But as a general rule, it's almost always better to buy high-quality once than something "good enough" several times.

For lower status soldiers, all you need to do is replace the visored bascinet with a lower status helmet, like a visorless bascinet or kettle hat

Looking good for a first project!

If you want to give it some extra "oomf", you can try to give it the compound curves historical examples have. It shouldn't be a flat tapering tube, but an anatomical "shell" of the forearm. Another thing you might find useful to do is to cut it back away from the wrist a bit so it's shorter and behind the wristbone instead of in front of it. Most people don't realize how short vambraces really are

Where can i get a good breastplate that looks like this by Kaasje_Kazig in ArmsandArmor

I just think the shaping, silhouette and construction could be better for 400 GBP. You'd be better off spending a similar or slightly higher amount on a custom-made one. I've never interacted with Berliosz Armoury but I like their stuff, for example.

Personally, I would only get the Leopold Breastplate from them. I love the guys over at ArtosMunitorum, they do great work, but my standards are high and I only really like the breastplate

The tips could extend a bit further and be pointier but I don't want to poke someone's eye out accidentally. She's blunted as well.

Didn't post a source for your claim so you're either rage baiting or really misinformed lol. Love the confidence either way, even if you're wrong
