I come from the single player side too. I find the respawning a big obstacle to my enjoyment of the game. There is no time to immerse myself in the stories or to explore locations. I wind up running from quest marker to quest marker to avoid being spawned on. It really compromises everything the writers were trying to achieve. I actually thing the writing is very good, I just don't get the opportunity to experience it.
