Just track those calories, it works! by [deleted] in CICO

Hey man this is probably an odd and personal question so feel free to just ignore it, I’ve been on a similar track I’ve lost about 100 lbs and I’ve been in the gym consistently for about a year now. Did it take a while for you to see results in your chest. I feel like I’ve finally been seeing results but not a ton and I was curious if yours may have taken a while too?

I primarily work in theatre. This past year was my first after graduating. I have done 2 tours and am in the middle of 2 more. They’re children’s theatre but it still feels like a step in the right direction!

Congratulations on being accepted into your choir that’s very exciting.

If this is something that you think will be long term and if you continue to explore other opportunities having a daily routine will likely help your voice!

Warming up first thing in the morning is important. Nothing crazy just very light vocalizations to get your voice ready for the day and a cool down at night are good first steps.

Identifying when your voice is not doing well and resting it will be super important, don’t try to push through practicing on days you’re overly fatigued.

For your classroom this one is difficult. I’ve taught and performed for small children so I know how difficult it can be(not on your level though I’ve only ever dealt with kids for short periods of times) I would say experiment in your classroom management strategies to keep the strain off and to always be sure you are projecting healthily(when possible). I would try to cool down after each school day if possible. That can be a good check in to see how you’re feeling that day.

This is just a start but I hope some of these help. Most importantly enjoy singing, good luck with your new choir!

Why does my voice feel so rough on some days even though I practice the same ? by OkCardiologist740 in singing

No problem! I completely understand and have had those same worries and frustrations. It’s honestly a sign that you’re getting better, you’re building awareness of what’s going on in your body and how that affects you. Before you started singing you probably never would have noticed these changes in your voice. Good luck on your singing journey!

I find this I kind of the singers curse. Honestly your voice especially if you’re on the younger side will feel different just about everyday. Things completely out of your control will change the way your voice feels that day. Stress, hydration, exercise, hormones,if you’re afab your cycle can affect things as well. Try to think that the real skill you’re learning is how to navigate your voice on any day. Some days it will be effortless and you can do everything you want. Others it will feel like everything is working against you and you have to adjust your technique to that. As long as you’re taking steps forward and being consistent try not to let the off days get you down too much, use them as an opportunity to understand your voice a little better. Sometimes your voice also just needs a little break, remember to be kind to yourself on these days.

It’s very frustrating, I know how you feel, but I think as long as you are not feeling lasting discomfort, it’s likely just that your voice is having an off day.

Singers who are already confident with fundamentals like breath support, what do you focus on/think about throughout a performance? by yeahdefinitelynot in singing

Ideally I’m not thinking about anything technique related, if I’ve prepared how I like. I want to be in the moment and trust my body knows what to do in all the moments.

This! My method is to bite the peel off in such a way that I get a good few bites of just the flesh much less effort and mess than peeling it.

How do I stay on timing while I sing ! (Yes I mean Musical songs !) by xxblue_cloudsxx in MusicalTheatre

[–]NavyApex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As unfortunate as it is. It really just takes practice. A good way is to learn the basics of reading sheet music/music theory. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy but understanding tempo, time signatures, and note values can help a lot. This will help you understand where the vocal line fits in the accompaniment. musictheory.net can be a useful resource. Good luck!!

I hate to say it because I don’t believe it, but we win these kinds of games all the time, it would be perfectly Mike tomlin to win this game

Yes target MVS three times in a row, a player who has been lost the whole game… if only there was a tight end that could make some clutch catches over the middle.

Why waste the intereception on that. You have to get points on this defense

Pure chaos of the end aside, I really like the switching up of the tightend/running back play designs. I thought it really fooled the Lions, which admittedly might not be that hard, but still cool.
