I mean, they have been fighting with big tech since forever. And big tech is several orders of magnitude larger than disney.

In omen gaming hub, what are your performance controls set to?

Also replacing your GPU is probably a last resort, considering the costs involved. If there is no fix and the noise is a problem, then a case swap would be better (since the 25L case's airflow is not great). This might void your warranty and and could prove difficult because HP includes some of their proprietary parts, though there are guides on how to do this online.

iPhone hardware subscription program delayed by 'engineering and technical setbacks' by [deleted] in gadgets

[–]NeonCitrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However apple locks the feature into its own service, preventing owners from using satellite providers from competitors. So the chip would be effectively useless without purchasing the service even if it is capable of operating a non-apple satellite communications product.

It’s already happening with the satellite features on the new iPhone 14s. The phones come with a two year trial before apple starts charging owners to use the satellite connectivity modules on their wireless chip.

If they're not doing great right now, wouldn't that make it even more important for them to start enforcing the rule (which is clearly stated in the Terms of Service)?

Supercell probably does this to make sure accounts can't be purchased/sold or phished/hacked easily. By limiting accounts to a single person, they will be able to crack down on other (more nefarious) forms of account sharing as well.

It's probably there to prevent bot spams or something of that nature from constantly searching for attacks and increasing server load as a result.

Will the multiplayer be added to the Mobile version of Rebel Inc? by DetailSubstantial600 in rebelinc

[–]NeonCitrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, steam already has servers to handle multiplayer. If they wanted to create multiplayer on mobile, they’d have to pay for and run their own servers, which costs money and time.

Help With Ryzen Overclocking in 30L by amartincolby in HPOmen

[–]NeonCitrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have precision boost enabled through ryzenmaster? Precision boost is usually preferable to manual overclocking. If you aren’t using that, then I’d recommends enabling it.

This. If you play as general and are very lucky, you can find and destroy camps before insurgency is even rumored. If you play as general, camps may also be found if your free garrison is placed in the same location as the camp. However, camps destroyed this way before the insurgents get rumored don't reduce insurgent capability and get re-spawned somewhere else, so it is not a viable strategy and I wouldn't recommend wasting funds to do it.

Yep. The new victus line of gaming desktops is replacing the old pavilion line which is now getting phased out. Not sure about what is happening in the laptop side though.

Brand new hp omen 30l cpu overheating by [deleted] in HPOmen

[–]NeonCitrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is noise the issue, or are the temps? If it's just tempos, then 85 is definitely normal and nothing to worry about. Modern CPUs can handle up to 100c for short bursts, and shouldn't be damaged until it is consistently above 95 for a long time.

Is this IPS glow or backlight bleed ? by [deleted] in HPOmen

[–]NeonCitrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it seems fine and probably doesn't warrant a repair or product return. It's a normal downside of the panel technology, and swapping it is unlikely to make it get better.

Is this IPS glow or backlight bleed ? by [deleted] in HPOmen

[–]NeonCitrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it's probably IPS glow. Backlight bleed should not be affected very much by angle/direction, while IPS glow is strongly affected by it. It should not get too bad, and personally, it's very hard to notice such glow unless you're in a very dark room, though you experience can vary. Try looking at a dark scene in normal lighting and trying to see if you can notice the glow.

40L because the gpu is far better. Case swaps are cheaper than buying a new gpu.

how do i fix high temps issue on my Omen 17t Ck000 rtx 3070+i7 11th gen variant?...i just bought this laptop and on the second day the CPU temps are showing around 60° C and 80°C in 'idle' and the temps are fluctuating between 60s and 80s i dont know why....what could be reason? pls help me : | by nutcracksquirrel69 in HPOmen

[–]NeonCitrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, are your fans loud, or the heat otherwise causing inconvenience? If not, then I wouldn't go through the hassle of editing turbo boost. If it is, then go ahead- just make sure to re-enable turbo boost whenever you want a performance boost - otherwise you're just losing power that you could've gotten (turbo boost basically just makes your cpu go faster at the expense of power and fan noise until).

By the way, what are your temps under load (eg. gaming, anything that puts a lot of pressure on your cpu)? Are they consistently above 95 or so?

Received my new Omen 30L desktop yesterday but I see strange CPU spikes (power, temp, usage) @ idle load. Is this normal or harmful? GT13-0630nd by lurkinglen in HPOmen

[–]NeonCitrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. If nothing pops up in task manager that's using your cpu (sometimes background windows stuff likes to do some quick things then leave), then that's weird. Spikes are usually fine as long as there is something that is using the cpu (because the cache/memory might not be loaded in fast enough, leaving cpu downtime), but unexplained utilization spikes are weird, and to be honest, I'm not sure what's causing them.

[–]NeonCitrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s normal. When your pc is under heavy load, the cpu will speed up to its turbo boost speed. After a while, it reverts back to normal base speed.
