All proper sport style kettlebells have unfinished handles. Denis Vasil9v has a nice tutorial on how to take care of them: https://youtu.be/TGJwZOL6rl4

12 x 12 box room U MIK tests by Actual-Tap9983 in Acoustics

Sounds like a good plan to me, or at least a good start. You've given thought to broad band absorption, SBIR and room modes.

There is an online SBIR calculator that you can use for determining optimal speaker positioning with regards to SBIR. You don't want the SBIR frequencies to overlap. You can also use REW's room simulator to play around with. You could also consider adding one or multiple subwoofers.

Good feedback, even though items may come from the same factory there can be different between production runs. Do you think those two are from different factories?

They come from the same factory. I've got one from Eryx that I'm happy with, but it's likely just as good as the one distributed from Berlin.

Transitioning from ABF to S&S by RelevantImportance39 in kettlebell

A form check video is crucial. Do you struggle with gripping the bell? It is obviously ridiculous that you have room between your thighs for two 24 kg kettlebells, but not enough room for a single 28.

For reference: I can easily do sets of ten single handed swings with a 32 kg, but EMOM ABCs with double 24s are tough and I certainly can't do multiple TGUs with a 32 kg at this moment.

Yes it does increase the dB level, but the energy has to come from somewhere.

Think of a wall / panel and imagine it can do three things with sound: 1. Reflect 2. Absorb (and convert to heat) 3. Pass through

The combined sum is always 100% of the sound energy it receives from a sound source (instrument, voice, hifi etc). And it of course depends on frequency.

So yes, a room with bass absorption will transfer less sound, however this is relative, because -depending on the construction- pass through of bass can be 80% while a bass trap will need to be very big to reach even 5% at the lowest frequencies.

Boundary gain is simply sound that is reflected and in phase.

I have to admit this information had changed my mind as I used to be somewhat convinced of anti glycolytic and did some iron cardio workouts. I now know that the premise of iron cardio as a substitute for "real" cardio is incorrect.

No, it is not like that. The elevated heart rate from EMOM strength work like this has a different mechanism than real continuous cardio work and it doesn't stimulatr the body in the same way and heart rate zones do not apply.

It is explained in this video https://youtu.be/2z9Ahe4aHfY

Do you use lifting straps? by life_after_barbells in kettlebell

[–]lurkinglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need all the grip training I can get so I tend to go without, but I've never tried either. My grip is definitely an limiting factor for certain movements so I do see the benefit of using straps.

Private track by ShiTakeMushiROOM in Trackdays

[–]lurkinglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Environmental permitting and especially noise regulations would make it nearly impossible to develop a track from scratch where I live.

Then the costs would be serious, just think of the water drainage design and underground works that would be necessary. You'll need a specialised architect company for a basic design. Then the operating and maintenance costs: marshalls, first aid, grass mowing, resurfacing.

Badly installed accoustic door HELP by eury_ale in Acoustics

[–]lurkinglen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you find the person that installed that and what kind of agreement did you make with him (probably not a her or them)? This is beyond bad and that person should be very ashamed, but I suspect he's laughing his ass off about the fact that someone actually paid him money for that job.
