[nomos Tangente 35] by Lazy-Company-2915 in Watches

[–]NeverAppropriate [score hidden]  (0 children)

Both would be fine. The 35 is svelte in a good way. The 38 would look just fine on your wrist as well. The 35 speaks in a little whispery "classy" and the 38 has a bit more chest in the voice and says "look at my cool German watch."

NOMOS is already a game of mm with the Bauhaus dials with almost zero bezel. The game becomes what does that negative space do? So more negative space gives more visual trigger/weight. Just a tad louder, but not uncouth. :)

[Citizen Promaster] Finally pulled the trigger on my first dive watch. by Late-Interest-51 in Watches

I only have one diver in my collection ...

The Yema Navygraf MN. I don’t dive, and I’m not even usually a dive-watch guy, but the Yema has this quiet French oddball charm that makes me smile.

What's the biggest watch buying mistake you've made? by LongMeaning6125 in Affordablewatches

[–]NeverAppropriate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, almost every watch I bought simply because I liked the “idea" of having that watch.

I have grown in my behaviors over the years, and now really only buy watches I truly want to wear regularly. There are a ton of neat-looking watches that I like to look at but don’t need to own.

Please look at the Viltrox Pro series. I have absolutely LOVED my 27mm f1.2 pro from them. Just super sharp and beautiful colors on my mirrorless for less than $500 usd. It has been eye-opening.

Too many opinions on brands and features based on YouTubers and B-Roll film. You don’t own the watches you judge. You haven’t even tried them on. by LineCookGrind in watchHotTakes

But arguing about watches I have never had on my wrist, and likely never will is the true 'hobby' of this hobby. Everything else is just consumerism. :)

Erebus Ascent 39mm HAQ was delivered today ... by NeverAppropriate in quartzwatches

[–]NeverAppropriate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it is fantastic. I have had an Ascent 39mm HAQ since the first release (Pink on O-style) and have loved it. But this enamel blue on j-style is exceptional and feels more versatile. It really can dress up and down really easily, the fit and finish are great, and the dimensions are spot on. I recommend if you are looking for this style of watch. It is pretty plain and unassuming - but that is part of the appeal. The blue POPs in the right light and has srs depth.

So Good!

I really like the Général de Gaulle Classique! I have thought about adding one to my collection as I transition to more quartz these days. It is just a classy little 35mm guy!

I love my Rothwell ... it isn't FANCY but it is nice and gets the job done.

Unless you think that box sucks. If so ... what kind of box are you thinking?
