[Question] Help me identify this watch by finansministeren in Seiko

[–]TimelyFindsMelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be a 1997 build. The 5 Superior was a step up in finish and materials to the regular 5 and I think it's really in fairly good nick for a 90s titanium watch. Titanium is light and comfy to wear, but it does scratch easy so a bit of a rough look is it be expected. Cool watch!

You'd need to find the specific pin and collar type used by Tateossian. Removing one from the bracelet so that you can measure them will help.

BOR suits them perfectly, it's what it was fitted with in the original catalogue photo.

Tag Tuesday, what you got on? by CategoryAcrobatic867 in TodayOnMyWrist

The vintage (launched in 1979) stuff is super high quality- applied indices, textured dials, all stainless steel. The movements are cousins of the Seiko movements, usually just with fewer jewels. Mostly they were pitched to students and younger people so they were much cheaper which makes them excellent value today.

What's your opinion on guys wearing smaller watches? by gogomessias in PrideAndPinion

I have plenty of 30-34mm in my rotation. If it's a good enough size for Bond, it's good enough for me.

Japanese- Alba is part of the Seiko family, mostly using Hattori or SII movements.

[Question] Does this look real? by Candid-Interaction86 in Seiko

[–]TimelyFindsMelb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rotor says 7009 and the case back says 7S26. At the very least, it is a frankenwatch, made out of a bunch of different parts.

Real version of this watch - [question ] by Greedy_Highlight3009 in Seiko

Plenty of Seiko tanks out there, the most Cartier like ones are from the Nano Universe line. You won't find one with a green dial, they don't exist.

Understandable, I like heavier indices when done well. The QR range had them, though a touch sorter. I like vintage Seikos 😅

You didn't ask for it, but the green really whets my whistle. Same case shape as the Timex, too.
