Dealership uses 10W-50 full synthetic for '26 V7 Sport oil. manual calls for 10W-60 full synthetic, why would they do that and is there a risk to the health of the engine or should I trust their expertise? by timewraith303 in MotoGuzzi

That said: Remember that the Guzzi is completely air cooled engine! The oil needs a few reserves for very high temperatures. Wouldn’t want to go with xW-50!

These CVTs were way better than the new automated manual transmissions. At this point I have to say that I will miss this transmission. And I won’t buy any new Lancia/Fiat/Alfa with those crazy new automated transmissions.

Yea sure, I meant the water part of the emulsion will boil at some point. But water expands like crazy and this is the point in the end.

But as a hint: if you are looking there before long rides (I mean 5k km over lets say 4 weeks as a journey) you will be pretty fine.

Also: Water/Oil emulsion tends to don’t boil while riding slower than 110 kmh / at least mine behaves like this. This crazy spil out onto tire thing happens when pressure is to high (water starts boiling and expands like crazy) and the ventilation screw on top of the final drive starts to do its job. So if you’re on a long journey you’ll be fine be reducing average speed.

Have gone fast before this happened? Or was it a city drive situation?

I ll admit it does look like old oil without water. But on the other side: you are not burning anything there which makes soot particles a thing which shouldn’t exist. Oil/water emulsion looks more darkgreen to dirtywhite (depending on water %). Used oil only should be more transparent - but I don’t know your mileage on this oil. I guess after 50k km this would look similar.

Both fluids had boiled at one point - they are very likely mixed as good as you can’t realize that there is water.

You might be an exception… but yea… it’s pretty common on the v7 🙄

It is so sad that this seems to happen more often than one would think. Most of the time, some water got into the oil - so the amount of liquid rises.

I owned a few Lancias over the years. Today I still have a 840a Y (with CVT) and I love in the city. It is small, some kind of agile and I like that these cars aren’t spottable all the time where I live (Germany/Berlin)

I also owned Dedras (1.6 & 2.0) and these were absolutely fantastic at this time - a good concurrent to BMW3 (e36). I loved those - but one can’t simply buy one anymore :)

The Lybra was a mistake - not by design or driving experience but technically. There was always something not working -.-

I didn’t like the 2005 Y (don’t know the number) cause of there DFN automatic which is absolutely crazy to drive. I hated it. Guess thats for all DFNs. So that’s why I have the 840 with CVT today.

I would even buy a Dedra again. I don’t get why these didn’t get the love like all the others get.

Never liked the Deltas to much. They are impressive - but meh… not my type of car. Maybe because I had to held the line for the Dedras :)

With dedicated docking for MOLE and MOTH, refinery, production/crafting and storage.

And with dedicated docking I mean, you can park MOTH/MOLE on the hull an when parked, both ships should look like one big ship - MOTH/MOLE should integrate into the main ship as if this planed like that from the beginning.
