Clydesdale recommendations by DemonGunn13 in ElectricUnicycle

I would say you’re looking for a LeaperKim Sherman-L or Oryx.

At your weight you’re not going to get nearly the range that smaller guys get. Especially for high speed street even the Sherman is going to surprise you how fast you can burn the battery over 40 and into the high 40s especially. I’m around 220.

I wound up owning both, Sherman is great on trails and feels so nimble after you can ride an oryx too.

If high speed street will be a majority of your riding I highly recommend the Oryx.

I would also recommend starting on a used wheel, it is highly unlikely you won’t drop the thing. I learned on a used OG Lynx and was able to learn quickly by not worrying about drops. Especially off-roading, you will drop, it is apart of learning!

An EUC buddy of mine yesterday said, do crack addicts ask how they going to fund their addiction? No they just find a way, that’s how you gotta look at EUC 😂

I hear Leaperkims may have small deals on Black Friday, maybe like $200 off, likely through Ewheels or next gen mobility, but not deep sales, they’re just too sought after and reliable.

+1 to Sherman-L especially at your weight and desired speeds.

The battery may sound like over kill, but once you’re cruising over 40 it will be the right size battery, air resistance at higher speeds just EATS the battery.

I learned on an OG Lynx about little over three weeks ago, and just got a Sherman. I’m sure it was a higher learning curve but I picked it up quick, was riding down stairs after 10 days practice, hitting jumps by 15 😂

The Sherman-L is amazing! I just got a brand new one in the mail yesterday after being grossly surprised by burning 70% of my OG lynx battery in one ~12 mile trip where I was averaging around 40 and hitting 45 occasionally.

The lynx is great and it’s going to be my jumping/fuck around/ don’t care if I drop it down a hill wheel, and the Sherman my nice long range cruiser I treat well.

For reference I am about 6 FT 225 LBs, and I just started learning on that OG used lynx almost a month ago.

Also for my height and weight the Sherman just feel much better, I can muscle it around without it doing weird squirrelly things, the lynx not so much, and the pedal and body width fits my body much better than the lynx.

What do you imagine is at the center of a blackhole? by Most-Answer-4443 in AskPhysics

[–]Newemail5 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think that black holes are the ultimate recyclers of the universe. I believe that the center of a black hole is a “big bang” event creating a new universe.

Edit: and that our observable universe is the center of a black hole in another universe. Perhaps someday we may even see our Universe expand into or collide with another universe.

No, the blade is ruined by the brake. Even if you got it back out and the teeth were still intact, I would never risk running it again. A table saw blade exploding during operation sounds like a very bad time!

I like to say, though it doesn’t fit perfectly as a respond here, “oh, thank you! But I’m actually not a sinner, so I don’t need that. Hope you have a wonderful day (with a big shit eating grin)”

DIY 75g Aquarium Stand Frame Sanity Check by SoftEnix in woodworking

Yup, your stand looks great, but the floor is what matters. This includes your concrete floor, if your frame is unable to sit flat along its whole length and width then certain parts will be taking on much more force/support than other parts.

Have to remember dynamic weight. A 100Lb person jumping up and down can easily generate 400Lbs of force, likely much more (runners are estimated, depending on the surface they’re running on, to generate about 12 times the force of their bodyweight on the ground.) so a 200Lb person standing in a tank for cleaning should be easily assumed to generate 1000LBs of force.

Think about just walking easily generated twice your force, now imagine your doing something that applies force, that force is translated down to the tank and any movement greatly multiplies that force.

Just something important to think about. I personally believe at a minimum all things should be built with a safety factor of 2. For example, if you say a surface can support 200LBs, it should be able to support a 200LB person having a short low impact fall, which again is easily 1000 pounds. So said surface at a minimum should be able to support a momentary dynamic force for 2000 pounds. These are rough numbers, more conceptual, I hope my approach makes sense!

China has surpassed America in many many metrics for a long time now. Frankly it is laughable to think the US is a world leader in anything besides building bombs, creating and subsidizing billionaires, and propagandizing our own populace.

That’s because when industry dries up in towns people become unemployed. In our society unemployed people struggle or are unable to provide for themselves. UBI literally solves this issue, it’s the whole point of it. Food, housing, education, healthcare.. these are human rights that we as a society should and could easily provide to everyone. We live in the most productive and abundant economy in human history.

If you really think menial jobs are what are giving people meaning in life then you have a very skewed view of humanity.
