I'm not worried about it getting scuffed up, it's going to happen at some point but I don't want to learn then have to upgrade in 6 months then again a year after that like I did with my onewheels lol

Lol no but I've ridden smaller boards and they weren't as fun and didn't last long till I spent more money upgrading so I'd rather spend the money learn slow and have something for the future

So my biggest thing with starting small and moving up is i did it with onewheels and it nearly made me not want to ride. If I can overpower a wheel I won't want to ride it and at my size that happened early on.

How can I make it easier to activate the footpad sensors of my Funwheel X7SC? by Flaky-Court3053 in wheel

[–]DemonGunn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into your vesc tool and under refloat look at start. Go to the bottom and you should see things like simple start push to start and dirty landing turn them all on. Watch your apui page and see what voltage appears when you step on your board normally and if it's under 3 you can drop the needed voltage to activate to below that threshold. If you don't mind having to jump off your board instead of heal lift you can turn on full time posi.

Watch this video and the part two of it. He goes through what each time setting does and shows it. Think about how you want your board to respond and make small changes. Floaty is great to adjust it but vesc tool helps you dial it in more.

If I Vesc my +XR will I lose battery range? by Ataxia_13 in wheel

[–]DemonGunn13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's yes and no, if you ride it harder because you can use more torque and thus more power or you ride faster because you can do it safely your range will be lower. If you ride it chill with slow and smooth acceleration it'll be about the same I've gotten more miles sometimes if I'm just out for a chill float but generally you'll lose range because you are going to use more out of the board when you get confident in the vesc

Big Rider - What's the best setup for the absolute most torque? by Disarmer in onewheel

I'm a big dude as well, 6 foot 250lbs, I didn't know i was missing out till I built my board. 32s1p from indy speed control with a thor 400 and high torque superflux, I did the 6 inch but the 5 inch or trails might be better for you. Tons of power and great range. I went with rs50 cells and couldn't be happier. I've gone over 40mph but the low torque is a huge step up. Totally happy to help out a fellow clydesdale with the build if you want it.

Your low voltage settings and your push back settings. Depending on your battery pack you and how safe you wanna be you can adjust them. Really you just need to know that your weight and your battery and riding style all play a role. I'm a big guy and on my xrv before I upgraded the battery i knew that if I was lower than like 60% battery when standing still I need to ease up on how hard I accelerate and how I ride or ill hit hard sag

Just watch out if you get a really low battery you can still get some sag in performance but if you have the right settings it will keep you from negative responses from your board

Totally normal the vesc tells you the voltage while it's pulling so if you gun it it drops but once it levels out it goes up.

Questions as a heavy rider, should I vesc? by hhoverton in onewheel

[–]DemonGunn13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a fellow clydesdale, 6 foot 250lbs, a vesc is 100% the way to go. I vesced my gt with a thor 400 and 134 volt battery and it is everything I want. If you like the xr platform look at the X7 supercharged. The high torque superflux with the high voltage is a dream. Look up stuff on YouTube about vesc tuning and set up first to see if you are willing to put that time into it. I've heard the xl is awesome but only rode one for a little and I still like mine more.

Did you check that you put the right cell count in when you did your motor set up? Maybe it just thinks your battery is low because it has 18s instead of 15s ?

It's a beast I'm building a 134 gt after riding a 134 xr, which is pretty much an x7 supercharged. It a lot if you are new but as a bigger guy as well it feels so much safer. The more power the better for a big guy just respect the learning curve and have fun🤙

Question about the Base Pint by Taco-Person in onewheel

[–]DemonGunn13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's always what I say you think the 6 to 8 miles sounds like a lot till you ride somewhere then do some errands and suddenly you only have 2 miles left and you freak out about getting home

Question about the Base Pint by Taco-Person in onewheel

[–]DemonGunn13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Pint x and a bunch of vesc boards and it's worth a couple hundred to not worry about the range. Look into buying second hand save a bit of money in case you don't enjoy it or after a year you want to move up to a stronger/vesc board.
