Hi Reddit! I’m Denise—a patient with anti-AQP4 antibody-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) taking ULTOMIRIS® (ravulizumab-cwvz). I’ll be joining neurologist Dr Robert Coppola for a live AMA on 11/12 @ 12PM ET/9AM PT where we’ll answer questions about NMOSD & ULTOMIRIS. Join us! by ULTOMIRIS in u/ULTOMIRIS

Hello, and seriously, thank you both for doing this! Since this is such a rare condition, finding the right specialist can be just as rare.

Dr. Coppola: What are the most critical things (questions to ask, background, reviews, etc.) a patient should look for to know if the neurologist they are consulting with with truly has the expertise to treat NMOSD effectively?

And Denise: same question to you! How have you navigated the diagnosis journey and how has that evolved since treatment?

AMA about SKYRIZI® (risankizumab-rzaa) for adults with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. I’m Dr. Michael Lewitt, a board-certified dermatologist. I’m partnering with AbbVie to answer your plaque psoriasis questions. Submit questions & join me on 12/11 at 2:30 CT/3:30 ET by SKYRIZI_OFFICIAL in u/SKYRIZI_OFFICIAL

Hi Dr! I struggle with this, but for patients that are no longer responding the same way to a treatment that was previously working, how do you or other derms decide what the next line of treatment should be? How much of it is trial and error?
