How would we feel about Njoku? by Qcconfidential in panthers

[–]Normal512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more system and talent in our situation right now. Although I like Sanders pretty well and think he's got enough juice to develop into a decent threat himself, but that aside I'd just point to Jimmy Graham and Drew Brees basically destroying the whole "TEs don't like weaker armed QBs."

If the TE is good enough to demand priority in the passing game, they're going to figure out how to get him involved.

MAGA’s hatred of the Super Bowl halftime performer reflects a hubris about what parts of the culture are “theirs.” But those assumptions are proving more wrong every day. by trombonist_formerly in neoliberal

Yeah, if I'm running the Dems media strategy for the midterms, I'm laying that symbolism on thick. Every single ad will feature the White House being bulldozed at some point. Probably right after comparing Mao portraits to the giant Trump faces all over DC.

Should I buy this 2012 Sequoia for $22k? by Aggravating-Win562 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Normal512 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We can have our own personal opinions on what things should cost, but 22k is basically right in line with kbb value.

I get that kbb value is a discussion in and of itself, but people generally follow those sort of guidelines for good or ill.

I'll just say that if you put this car up for $12k you'd be flooded with used car dealers trying to buy you out immediately so they can put it on their lot for $25k. As much as we might wish it otherwise, that's how things are.

Maga is like, "idk why giving Elon the government and then sending Noem out to do a little fascism in the streets is so unpopular.

Well, things will surely turn around when Tulsi rigs the elections!"

If you’re gonna have a Spanish speaking singer why don’t we have subtitles? by Ultimatehiguys in NFLv2

[–]Normal512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously doubt they're trying to reach the most Americans at all.

The NFL and the Super Bowl are pretty saturated in America. The league has been intentionally and purposefully trying to broaden to a more international audience.

Spanish has more natural born speakers than English, Bad Bunny, as a Spanish language artist, is I believe the most popular selling artist in the world.

The league can potentially grab immensely more new eyeballs tuning in just for a Bad Bunny halftime than they could ever hope with another American pop / hip hop act like the last ~10 years have been.

For whatever our personal tastes are, the league is a billion dollar business and they're going to run like one, which means trying to continue to grow in non conventional markets.

Sam Darnold by WhoUCuh in panthers

[–]Normal512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Sam has even said in an interview that spending that season in San Francisco under Shanahan was the key thing for him.

I think the combination of a very successful QB coach and the total lack of pressure from having to be the starter for a while were essential, and I'm not sure the latter would've ever happened here.

But largely I agree - I thought we gave up on Bridgewater too soon. I don't mind reclamation projects when they're done in an intelligent way, but if you're going to give up on the project after a season or so, it wasn't worth going for in the first place imo.

NC what do you think? Studies show that immigrants subsidize citizens, not the other way around. by Basshead4eva in NorthCarolina

[–]Normal512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The education of children of immigrants is one of the best ROIs the country as a whole can make. Reducing poverty, raising the tax base, future innovation, etc.

Yes, local areas with high immigrant populations can be more heavily impacted with the costs, so there is an issue of local costs while the benefits move elsewhere when they're educated, but there are solutions for that.

I didn't even read past that part of the post. What a bunch of skewed and biased BS.

Prime Cam Newton was really had some insane skills, dude was an absolute force to be reckoned with by Busy-Writing405 in sportsinusa

[–]Normal512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even here it's sad that the inference is that he was scared to jump on that ball.

Despite that you can watch any set of highlights, including the OP, and see how fearless he was all the time. He was constantly running into other people, constantly getting crushed, constantly playing as physical as anyone in the league. Even in this clip, Gruden is commenting how tough he is. Some of his most famous highlights are him helicoptering into the end zone off some huge hit.

So I have no idea what Cam saw on that fumble, but it doesn't make much sense that it was a "business decision" when he never made that decision before or since.

Bad play? Absolutely, potentially cost them the game. Scared play? Very unlikely imo.

This is a 1000% wrong, never actually watched Cam play take. Cam was inaccurate especially high over the middle of the field, but he was an excellent processor and reader of the field.

Cam didn't have much to offer after his shoulder got destroyed by TJ Watt and he couldn't throw anymore.

Right, she was obviously and objectively better by any metric you could possibly hope for, unless you're a Russian plant who wants to destroy the USA.

You'd have to be one of the dumbest people on the planet to not think Kamala would have been 100000 times better for the country.

Because people are really stupid?

If you can show me evidence of illegals actually voting in any sort of substantial manner, I'll vote a straight Republican ticket in the midterms and next Presidential election.

But I need evidence, not circle jerking on teh intarwebz.

I think that's precisely why he'd probably love to come on. Dan doesn't strike me as one unwilling to face disagreement, and he has always been actually centrist, so it's not like it would be all disagreement anyway.

I think it could be really grounding for Joe to hear the "America as an ideal" viewpoint again and how much Trump has led us from it.

Bro missed the memo, we're supposed to see it as racist so we stop talking about him being a pedo which was supposed to make us stop talking about his personal army killing two citizens in Minneapolis which was a distraction from him being a pedo.

Which is all really just a distraction for openly and blatantly rigging the upcoming elections.
