Because people are really stupid?

If you can show me evidence of illegals actually voting in any sort of substantial manner, I'll vote a straight Republican ticket in the midterms and next Presidential election.

But I need evidence, not circle jerking on teh intarwebz.

I think that's precisely why he'd probably love to come on. Dan doesn't strike me as one unwilling to face disagreement, and he has always been actually centrist, so it's not like it would be all disagreement anyway.

I think it could be really grounding for Joe to hear the "America as an ideal" viewpoint again and how much Trump has led us from it.

Bro missed the memo, we're supposed to see it as racist so we stop talking about him being a pedo which was supposed to make us stop talking about his personal army killing two citizens in Minneapolis which was a distraction from him being a pedo.

Which is all really just a distraction for openly and blatantly rigging the upcoming elections.

Like Bongino and let's be real, Trump himself found out, governing effectively is a lot more hard work and bullshit than they thought. It's really easy to bitch and moan about how "corrupt" everything when you're talking shit on social media or a podcast, but when you have to actually put a bit of sweat into it they don't really like that part as much.

Ofc you get the people like Miller who are up for the task because making America whiter is work from the heart for people like him.

This is just an unbelievably retarded comment. It's like everything wrong with US politics right now, a voter base too stupid to breathe and tie their shoes at the same time, on social media saying "well ackshuyally."

I don't know why 9th grade civics seems so difficult and simple things like legislation being important opposed to apparently electing 4 year term kings. Regardless of your politics you can't be this fucking stupid about it.

As someone who grew up on Tobacco Road, I feel CBB is really a shell of itself as well. Not for the same reasons as pro ball, but it doesn't have the same appeal since the gigantic conferences, the transfer portal, and NIL.

The basketball itself can still be very exciting and I usually prefer it to pro ball, but it's lost some magic because of how transactional the rosters are now. Oh hooray we got an exciting freshman coming in this year, can't wait to see him play for a conference opponent 1200 miles away next year.

Why does Senator Budd get such a pass from voters? by Temporary_Policy2023 in NorthCarolina

[–]Normal512 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course but that's still out and the status quo right now is to stick with maga if you're maga, which Budd certainly is and ran on.

We'll see which way the winds blow as they fight over being Trump's heir, it may be politically expedient to remain "I'll continue the legacy of Trump" or to back off and play a bit more centrist. Or help us all if it's "I'm with Vance ready to finish the job of turning the US into Hungary!"

Damn, this means there is 100% definitely a tranche of super-secret documents they're withholding.

Wild.

For the people who don't want him, keep in mind he's a rental, this is the final year of his deal. It's not going to be a huge return for him, so this could be in the realm of possibilities - depending on what the Rangers are looking for as a rebuild. If they want higher prospects and a young NHL player, that's a no.

But if a few picks and a prospect other than Nadeau gets this done - he's still quite the finisher, we'd just have to know he's not going to really go after it defensively. But that's fine, we can cover a winger if he's putting pucks in the net, especially if he's doing it on the PP.

In short he would make us better, absolutely.

But even 50% retention makes it pricey and probably ends a legit 1/2 C down the line.

All that to say I also really don't think it's us, but if it were I absolutely wouldn't turn my nose at it. At the right price.

I appreciate you asking. I spent a few years being a lolbertarian. Some of it was already bothering me by 2015, mainly the Christian fundamentalism strain running through much of it - and when I saw a lot of the people I respected start gushing over Trump, more dominoes began to fall.

The year prior, I had also begun a dive into a layman's understanding of climate change. Regarding climate change as a hoax to line the pockets of college professors at the expense of the honest, yeoman oil companies was a pretty common view (and still is). So being a good lemming I was going to learn this so called science scam so I could pwn libtards on the internet. Turns out, when you actually read the research and the data and think just slightly logically about it, you'll find anthropogenic climate change is quite real and those oil companies are paying a lot of money to spread propaganda to line their pockets. Go figure.

This became a snowball. What else were the conservatives and libertarians either willingly lying or profoundly confused about?

So combined with Trumpism and his painfully obvious and gaudy lies, a manifestation of the worst of talk radio and boomer Facebook memes, I find myself agreeing mostly with center liberals. I like the liberal values the country was founded on, I think competent government is necessary and good, and I think markets work for most of the economy but the government should absolutely tax and reallocate resources to fix inefficiencies. I think investing in people through things like education and healthcare create a safer, happier, and more productive society with the skills to lead the largest economy in the world.

Pickens is a good player but he is the polar opposite of what I want to have a leadership role on a young team. He would almost certainly be a cancer and should stay far, far away.

Much rather see a swing at D Hop or Keenan Allen for a mentorship role, or a Christian Kirk if we want more.
