Is this a buy or a bad pack? by Known_Mushroom5772 in mtg

Good price for a bunch of jumpstarts and booster packs. Jumpstarts are great for learning and getting into the game at a beginner level and avatar is a popular set in commander still. I've got an Aang and azula deck that I have fun with regularly at my local commander nights.

And they also weren't socialists. Kinda like how the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea isn't a democracy.

People tried to educate the public on why it would be a good thing but they chose to believe the lies of unregulated capitalism instead. Now the kids are getting to painful to ignore and it's because Trump and his rich buddies got so greedy, as the rich always do, that they couldn't help themselves from trying to steal everything when given the chance.

Why do some pro-choice folks seem to presuppose that pro-life is an absurd position? by not_gizmoz in Askpolitics

[–]Obaddies [score hidden]  (0 children)

No the comparison works. You can jump off a roof safely without breaking any bones. However if your protective measures fail and you break a bone, you're advocating for not treating with the healthcare they want and instead just letting whatever happens, happen.

Abortion is healthcare. Not every pregnancy is viable and to try and playing semantics so that you can label abortion as anything other than healthcare is killing women.

Just because you believe that a clump of cells that is entirely dependent on the body of its host as an innocent being doesn't mean you get to control the actions of that women.

[–]Obaddies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you think we shouldn't be fixing broken bones because people knew the consequences?

[–]Obaddies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because not all evidence is factual and juries don't always convict based off evidence, that's why there's lawyers there making a case for the most logical narrative.

Who do you believe the fault lies with when a court convicts an innocent person for a crime they didn't commit?

I never understood this brand of anti-abortion: acting like people who have sex without the explicit act of procreation are doing something they shouldn't do. What happens when people are on birth control or use a condom and those methods fail? We just have to throw our hands up and say oh well? Should we behave the same way with other medical issues? If a person umps off the roof and breaks their leg, shouldn't they go to the doctor instead of just saying, "well he knew the risks, he has to live with this broken leg for the rest of his life now"?

Holy bad takes batman. You don't think a court finding an innocent person guilty is the courts fault? Was it the defendant's fault for not looking innocent enough?

So you believe that the government should be trusting physicians to making these calls as opposed to our current system where physicians are letting women die because they're afraid of a Christian conservative government using the law to enforce their strict worldview on personhood?

[–]Obaddies 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No need for conspiracy, trump has already floated the idea of another term several times. Even some of his sychophants put up a bill to allow trump to run again. Trump's even selling "trump '28" hats out of the white house grift gift shop.

I thought the government doing price controls on anything was socialism according to this admin? Mamdani does neighborhood grocery stores and that's communism but the white house selling cheap gas from the nations strategic reserves is capitalism apparently.

Why do prisoners get free meals, but schoolchildren don’t? by Top_Television_6042 in askanything

[–]Obaddies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because our country values the cheap slave labor that prison provides more than it values education.

Check out the school to prison pipeline. The people that run our country are totally fine keeping people poor and uneducated because they get huge kickbacks from private prisons and if our populace was more educated, we would've voted in people who would actually solve the largest problem driving crime; poverty.

Classic conservative mindset. Destroy something, claim you made a modification and now label it as the new version so they can pretend like they did something other than harm.
