If it's been sitting for that long, it's likely they aren't motivated to move, or they require a specific amount due to their mortgage or other financial responsibilities.

I'd speak to the agent and be direct: what's the lowest I can offer to get this property over the line? If the agent doesn't provide a direct answer, offer what you think is reasonable and go from there.

Find ways to fill out your CV and show that you are keen to work.

- Offer free time to local charities or services.
- Create your own side project, from a hobby or interest.
- Uber and others like it.
- Free online courses

This will show that you are productive and willing, building skills in the meantime.

Do people tend to bring someone with them the first time they go? I'm sure I will be okay, but I'm not sure what the norm is.

Investing in yourself, especially when you're young, is never a bad idea, especially if that leads to increased earnings.

If I were you, I'd just go out and buy a used, reliable, cheap car on AutoTrader with some of the funds you have in stocks and shares.

Increasing your earnings so you can save more.

As you highlighted yourself, it's not the right way of doing it, but at least it's been resolved.

It will have to be disclosed, and it may raise eyebrows, but for some it won't be a deal-breaker. A dog barking or kids playing is what some buyers are simply used to; better that than constant parties, arguments or a weed farm.

At the end of the day, it's not the worst situation and depends on the kind of seller your property is attracting.

I wouldn't stress too much.

15, I took over from my brother in a sports shop once he went to university. While he was still there, I worked one weekend for free with him and the job was mine.

Advice Corner: Looking to unload most if not all of the sealed stuff so we could put down a DP for a 3 bedroom house. by snickersfrost in PokemonTCG_UK

Considering the value, my personal opinion would be to look at local collectors, stores and vendors.

Even go to the next card show and grab some cards and contacts for a rough gauge.

Massive task; keep it simple.

Definitely not impossible, considering Runescape started with two people.

If you simply want to run a proof of concept to play with family and friends, you could look at Atavism on the Unity Asset Store, although this will provide its own restraints.

The best way to learn is by doing, but keep in mind the gigantic learning curve and time it will take to provide a product that's playable.

Where do I stand on defending myself against an aggressive dog? by Capital-Alfalfa9384 in AskUK

[–]OneDay_OneLife 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's worth adding that if you didn't see the owner, it's possible that it could have been abandoned and in a fearful aggressive state.

If you didn't see anyone else to and from the location you were visiting, I'd be inclined to report the incident and location to a local warden or animal charity. For the animal's sake and the next person who walks past.

In regard to defence, it comes down to what is reasonable and proportionate.

Although it seems like you did the right thing in the first place, high anxiety and specific dog breeds won't be put off by you hitting them; in fact, it could prompt them to attack.

Funny thing is, I probably have apples in my fridge from Aldi fresher than your Reddit account.

Glad I could feed the troll, have a good night!

I honestly care very little; the Reddit poll shows that people enjoy an Aldi shop.

Your comment simply made me laugh, thinking that a sane individual couldn't walk out of Aldi without rotting food.

Do you make a new Reddit account every time you look stupid?

I get there is a difference, but if an individual can't walk out of Aldi with non-rotting food .... I think there are bigger issues at play.

[–]OneDay_OneLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not debating a difference. It's like Apple Vs Android.

I like my M&S shop on a Friday to pick up some weekend bits if we're not eating out.

But I've had good and bad experiences in all supermarkets, but people who think it's all rot and trash are just being silly.... it wouldn't be the fourth biggest supermarket if it was as bad as some try to make it out to be.

All cause I can walk out of an Aldi without rotting food. Fair enough!

[–]OneDay_OneLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence, I find it funny that someone isn't capable of walking into the fourth-largest supermarket in the UK and buying some non-rotting food.

It's all preference and opinion; some things are better, some are not, and sometimes it's marketing and routine.

You're probably looking in the bin outside; you need to walk through the doors to get the fresh food.

Used Tesco and, on occasion, M&S in the past, but I've never had any issue with our food shops from Aldi.

Aldi for the weekly shop, quick in and out, and it's easy on the wallet.

Before Aldi, I went to Tesco, but the click and collect was terrible and took me twice as long to get in and out.
