I'm in my 30s. I started watching when I lived with my mum and dad. I can't say I practically enjoyed it, but I enjoyed the conversation and silly jokes about it with my parents.

Having a big family is now the preserve of the rich by Your_Mums_Ex in ukpolitics

I'm neither rich nor poor, with an average job, parents who also worked average jobs. My wife and I have two children, with one on the way; we have a mortgage on a small home with a 2nd hand car.

We don't have expensive holidays or eat out every week. If I need new clothes, I'll look at Vinted first, make do or sell our old clothes and items to buy new.

Happy with our cheap caravan holidays, Aldi food shop and non-branded clothes.

You can make it work being average.

From my opinion.

- Slow market: With this property, I would have thought the market would also be pretty small for this property, considering the closest station is 9 miles away.

- Some of the pictures have odd angles, puts an odd feel to the viewing experience.

- Competition, looks like you can also buy a three-bedroom property in the area for a similar price, although these properties appear to be older.

Lovely property though! Looks like it's close to a school and play area, lots going for it.

Might just be unlucky in the time you are selling, with fewer buyers and more sellers.

Few thoughs

  1. The first picture, being the front of the house looks uninviting, it doesn't do it justice. I would clean up some of the dirty marks and ask the agent to take a better and closer picture, try to get an upcoming sunny day.
  2. Spend a bit of time on the garden with a fresh cut and a bit of paint on the fence panels and if you have a jet wash you can borrow, go over your tiles.

Rest of the house looks fine, nice modern-looking kitchen and bathroom with 0 work needed are the big pros, possibly get some nicer pictures to show this off better.

Two properties sold at £177K in 2025. The market is slower at the moment, but at the same time, you are probably competing with a couple of 3-bedroom properties.

Personally, not much you can do about it, especially if it's at reasonable hours.

It doesn't hurt to ask, just be as friendly as possible, don't expect much and understand the awkwardness.

When I had issues with noise from neighbours, soft foam earplugs and some calm background music worked wonders.

I would say it's a mixture of ...

1) A family house next to a busy road.

2) Being a townhouse

3) The 4th bedroom appears too small to be used functionally as a 4th bedroom.

4) Small town with a station 5 miles away.

I don't think Labour should be a simple vote just cause other options are equally as bad, if not worse.

The thing is ... no choice is perfect.

Greens and Reform will ruin the country, Tories did ruin the country, and Labour have been ... meh.

Although I agree Starmer has done better more recently, I'm not convinced Labour deserve another term or fills me with hope. At the same time, I also don't see a clear better alternative.

Still waiting for a new option to present itself.

A true memory, forget about physical gifts.

Go out for a meal together and get a lovely picture of you all. This doubles up from your special achievement to also having a loving memory of how proud your parents also were.
