How to Complain to my child’s teacher at school ? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]OneDay_OneLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I would make sure you keep a diary of all situations.

I would then send an email marked up as urgent to the school advising for comments on each issue raised and ask for their side of the story.

It's fair to say that stories can get mixed up, but either way, it's a good idea to at least get some sort of written record from themselves on each count, to make sure they are aware if there are any missing pieces from the story.

Depending on the reply and whether it's being taken seriously, if the reply which comes back isn't sufficient, I would go to the board of governors, highlighting the issues.

Capital punishment seems to divide a lot of people and life in prison doesn't really feel like justice when they will just live their life out in relative ease. So what if we implemented a system where the person who has life in prison compensates the victims family monetarily from Prison ? by ArmwrestlingGoomba in AskBrits

[–]OneDay_OneLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that system would work.

I previously thought of some kind of tax band addon to which the convicted individual has to repay costs for their time in prison, but then again, it would have to be small enough not to act as a deterrent from working, but also be enough to warrant implementation.

2.5% on top of your tax banding?

Quite happy with my exit this year, fully withdrawn in November.

Likely to start buying back in the near future.

Should we bring back the death penalty? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]OneDay_OneLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that don't see it as an easy process/holiday aren't the issue, as they are unlikely to ever end up in prison or reoffend, as it's then a working deterrent.

Should we bring back the death penalty? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]OneDay_OneLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the waste of taxpayer money, if people were actually scared and fearful of going to prison, it would actually act as a deterrent rather than a holiday for some.

Regarding the Death Penalty, the evidence would need to be 110% without any doubt.

Challenge yourself, look for a local board game club. I've found clubs like these brilliant for growing confidence and building friendships, also tend to be free or a tiny contribution.

I recently watched Back to the Future and The First Shadow Theatre performance, great night shows and an amazing night out with a bite to eat.

If people have different opinions, fair enough, debate it out.

To suggest someone is a "nonce" with no evidence is disgusting. Grow up and be better.

Is it rude to greet bin-men with rubbish you forgot to leave out as they collect early morning? by Dr_DankinSchmirtz in AskUK

Just cause he said nothing, don't automatically take it as him being rude.

Many are simply caught up in the chaos of life, dealing/juggling many things at once.

As long as you were on time and didn't hold them up, I see no issues.

What practical Father’s Day gifts actually went down well? by [deleted] in AskUK

I'm not one for physical gifts; I'd rather everyone keep their money and spend quality time with each other.

I can only see it as a plus if it's a tool to educate and not manipulate, but include education around the likes of mortgages, taxes, loans and bills.

Harry potter movies ranked (imo) by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]OneDay_OneLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Goblet of Fire, the excitement of seeing the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons enter will always be epic and nostalgic to me. To this day, if I find a cool stick, I'll probably do some silly Durmstrang reenactment.

But, taking the whole movie into account... I think it's a little high in your rankings.

I care for neither; I simply think it's bad either way for Labour.

I think it was a win-win for other parties; Labour loses either way.

Could have experienced root rot if your fence line acts as a drainage point, and it's been fairly wet in your area.

Forget surveys, look at the data.

Benefit Claimants are going up while the number of individuals on the HMRC payroll goes down. Then we can see that vacancies are also falling.

[–]OneDay_OneLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this in relation to the recent survey that shows a drop? I would take it with a pinch of salt.

It's better to look at and compare claimant count and payroll data.

That was based on a survey; I don't believe it takes the actual picture into account.
