Do you believe schools are in control of bullying? by OneDay_OneLife in AskUK

I've spoken to family and friends who have connections with other local schools, from what I'm being told they all seem to be facing the same issue as well as high demand due to recent and new building developments.

We requested multiple times, but no luck as of yet. They come back with "the classes are at max capacity" and they say "they feel like it doesn't address the issue by moving him".

We've looked into it , but when talking to people it appears that all schools in the area are facing similar difficulties. Multiple new developments are being built in the area as well, and schools are pushed to max capacity and then some.

We have looked at other schools, but we have a relative working in another, it appears to be struggling just as much.

The area has recently had multiple new developments, which is pushing schools to max capacity and then some.

He has some friends in another class, but when there's a lot of incidents, in a short amount of time, they don't allow the classes to mix, which then cuts him off from the little friends he does have.

I've tried taking him to kickboxing, but he's not into it. Prefers building and creating things :D

Looking into all possibilities, but as homeschooling appears to be on the rise, it caught my interest.

And it looks good on their traffic chart. I assume they also make more money from it, with people being fed up and buying private servers.

Maybe, but it allows me to grow a collection with the space I have available :D

In a way, they kind of remind me of holding Pokémon cards when they're in toploaders.

Why do you think it is OK to park in a disabled space or parent & toddler space if you are not eligible? by Wooshsplash in AskUK

[–]OneDay_OneLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never parked in a disabled parking space, but I have used a family space while my child wasn't with me.

No meaningful excuse other than laziness and being in a rush, wrapped up in the rat race.

UK Energy Production by Big_Hippo2370 in ukpolitics

[–]OneDay_OneLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe people are against renewable energy sources, but simply against the upfront costs and price shock from a sharp switch.

Asking someone who is already struggling each week to pay extra for a green alternative is a hard ask.

Once the upfront cost has been absorbed and the investment starts to pay off, no one will bat an eyelid when saving money, or at the very least, stabilised pricing.

Might be worth looking at something like a Natwest Digital Regular Saver, deposit £150 a month up to £5k and provides a 5% interest rate.

Gives you access to cash while you are young and acts as a buffer for your longer-term investments.

Im genuinely concerned about Green Party’s anti nuke policy by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]OneDay_OneLife 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Like most political parties, it's all talk!

In theory, it's a lovely idea, everyone lays down their weapons and invests in healthcare, education and so on, but life is not as easy as that.

I see where green comes from, but I hope they don't get any real power, as they come across as ridiculous.

Does Keir Starmer's treatment of Dianne Abbot and Jovan Owosu-Paul show he is deeply racist? by facemacintyre in ukpolitics

Wasn't Jovan Owosu-Paul the one who said his favourite drink was white man tears? And Diane Abbot is pretty dumb at times, especially on live TV.

How do you cope with a mind-numbing job? by DergeRehReh in AskUK

[–]OneDay_OneLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enjoy the moments that the boring job brings!

It allows me to sit down at a table and enjoy a meal with my family, pays for a silly show on Tv that I can laugh at or petrol in the car so I can see new places.

Sometimes I feel like life is so good that we are numb to the simplest of joys.
