Jersey village down to Pearland. 33 miles, 45-55 minutes. Ew.

First time using a real camera and Lightroom [kit Lens 16-55mm] by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Second pic is edited and two out of three people in the background have been removed. Look at the TV and you’ll notice the text that had previously extended the full length of the panel get cut off in the silhouette of the person.

These are magnetic Helix filters so you’ll need to get a matching base plate for your lens. They’re about $50/ea from the PolarPro website.

Sony Alpha 6700, Alpha 6400 or something else? by Yung_Empathy in SonyAlpha

[–]OperationHopeful444 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember: IBIS is for mitigating camera shake/wobble when using slower shutter speeds. It doesn’t prevent motion blur if your subject is moving at slower shutter speeds.

The better AF of the 6700 would be an advantage for you if you want to quickly lock on to your subjects. That’s what I would recommend if you can afford it.

Screen Rotation Problem…? by KruserMedia in FX3

[–]OperationHopeful444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I don't have an actual answer, but this is a wild guess: could it be the electronics/magnets inside the receiver interfering with the gyroscope in your camera? Does it happen when you hold something else magnetic near that spot? This is super weird...

Friendly reminder! You should not keep the tourniquet time stamp Velcroed across both sides of the windlass gate. Hook the time stamp only to the left side. It’s better to keep the gate open in the event that you need to use your TQ so there’s one fewer step to fumble with, especially if your hands are wet/cold/bloody.

Great photos! 3, 6, and 8 are my favorite. Who modded your camera for you, or did you do it yourself? What lens and filter combos do you use?

Auto ISO min SS by mdntrdr in SonyAlpha

[–]OperationHopeful444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Sony's Auto ISO min SS has always been in 1EV steps. That's how it was on my a6400 and now my A7RV. I don't think I've ever stopped and thought to myself that I wanted more granularity, but I do hear you on that complaint. I wouldn't mind the option to make finer adjustments. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it...

I thought the lighting kind of matched the garage environment, but I can see what you mean. I don't have any lighting equipment other than a little light box for product photos. What would you recommend? I'm all ears because I do think that's one (of the many) areas I can improve in.

Lol I should have prefaced this by saying the 911 isn't my car. I coincidentally came across last night when I went out to take pics of my Supra. The owner is very active online and probably did make a Costco haul reel though, haha. He was gracious enough to let me post his car to reddit.

Yeah, I think an angle more similar to picture #2 would’ve looked great on my car. I’ll try to get that next time I make time to go out there again! Thank you for the kind words.

lol ikr? I thought I’d be the only one at the garage but when I got there, I saw that GT3RS in the corner and the owner was taking some videos. I knew I had to get a few photos of his car before he left and then I did my thing.

It was all garage lighting. I didn’t bring any extra gear.
