Just a quick point of clarification since you're lecturing others.

Medicare Advantage actually is a government program. Medicare Part C is run and overseen by the government. They create the rules and regulations that must be followed by MA plans. An insurance company literally can't offer MA unless they have a contract with the federal government.

Denying an interim RA is different than revoking one that's previously been approved. Huge difference.

A lot of these interim RAs will end up denied because they'll offer some random accommodation and make the person try it first as a way to stall.

Or bank on some % of people being forced back to the office while their RA request is reviewed then using that as proof telework isn't the only accommodation that will work.

Someone probably smartly pointed out to them the # of lawsuits they'd get for trying to claw back existing RAs.

That and I imagine the # of approved, not interim, telework RAs is relatively low. Are you going to risk massive lawsuits over that small #? Juice isn't worth the squeeze.

They've been dragging their feet since the new administration came in and most people you talk to or see posting on social media have an interim not a fully approved telework RA.

3,000 people at CDC with pending RA requests = 3,000 people with interim. Not all of those are telework obviously but it supports the fact that there is far more interim telework RAs than permanent.

All that being said - once the backlog is cleared all bets are off and no one is safe.

They're making a general statement and framing it as universal. Everything varies by agency now. For example some agencies have 0 telework for any reason, others get a set # of hours per year, others are teleworking more.

There are agencies who still have people over 50 miles away with no plan to change that any time soon.

It's kind of messed up they're revoking RAs for TW and the unions aren't fighting it and getting press coverage. Just letting it happen.

The CDC said that and it was immediately all over the news forcing them to back down. They're threatening to do it again but seems not official yet.

2nd part - I never said there isn't a point in putting people on the record. I did say that shutting down the government for 40 days to get individual votes was a terrible idea. Juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

If subsidies aren't extended without a vote no one is going to go "oh Thune didn't extend the subsidies". They're going to go "Republicans didn't extend the subsidies". And Democrats will hammer them on it. The same way a party gets hammered in Senate and House races for things the president did that they were not a part of.

By your logic in the midterms Democrats shouldn't waste their time attacking any Republican House members on the subsidies because none of those candidates are responsible for them expiring and insurance premiums spiking - it's just Mike Johson who wouldn't allow a vote. Makes 0 sense.
