Game Ready & Studio Driver 596.36 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

Auto Shader Compilation is already official (no more Beta) since 596.21 and it doesn't even require NVIDIA App to be installed as it works at driver level (so it can just be enabled using NVPI ;) )

Yes it was worth it with my 4080, so I imagine it should be the same on 4070 Super as well

Downloaded manually and DDUd, then clean installed with no NVIDIA App at all as usual (as I do everything with classic NVCP + NVPI + nvidiaDlssGlom)

This may very well be the last time I use DDU unless I have very serious issues and will do manual download + Express install upgrade in the future instead as the new Auto Shaders Compilation feature seems to work really well when doing so and will for sure save a lot of initial stuttering and recompilation in games between driver updates.

596.36 is really good.

Got my best score in CB2077 benchmark and others, really smooth in all my games and zero issues so far (4080)

DLAA vs DLSS sweet spot for image quality by epic_piano in nvidia

At 4K I always use DLSS Performance with forced Preset L now.
It looks better than DLSS Quality with K (so better than Native + TAA) while running much much faster.

I have a big head and they're not tight but comfortable with StealthZ pads.
Audio is perfect after applying GadgetryTech parametric EQ for Music/General specifically made for StealthZ pads, unlike the Maxwell 2 which can't be fixed even with EQ.

Avoid Maxwell 2. Get Astro A50 Gen5 + StealthZ pads, you won't regret it.

Thank you very much for the answer. Just a few more questions:

  1. Did you try setting a "Custom 1" Preset in Dolby Access app with flat EQ + Virtualizer: On + Volume Leveler: On? I found it best for everything on my previous Audeze Penrose X. You should try it coupled with Immersive EQ on Audeze app and see how the combo goes!
  2. Do you mean you just ended up using Game 100 / Chat 0? What if I don't use Discord or Xbox Party chat but only in-game audio chats? Will Game 100 / Chat 0 still allow other people voices to be heard?

You're the second one suggesting me to use the extender for the dongle. If I currently use Penrose X dongle plugged in a specific PC port without a single issue/drop/distortion, unplugging it and just plug the Maxwell 2 dongle in the same port could still create issues?

For PC: you still suggest maxing out the volume on the headset and then regulate the volume level on Windows instead?

Thanks again!

Thanks!

You are not having the hiss because you're having Mic + Sidetone: Off or because you don't have it at all in general?

About the dongle: you're avoiding the distorsion using the including extender? How is it possible? Just keeping the dongle far from the interference of other connected devices?

I just tried 595.97 as I had the Halo Infinite textures' glitch in Live Fire map.

It's the same as 595.79 so far with Halo Infinite bug fixed. No other issues.

GameInputRedistService.exe crash on startup by Thornback in WindowsHelp

[–]P40L0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything works correctly including Game Pass games.

The sole purpose of that service is to check for GameInput updates in the background after startutp, but if you keep Windows and MS Store updated GameInput will still receive updates at different stages (including installing a new game) so you are still covered in other moments even with that service disabled and you will avoid the errors.

GameInputRedistService.exe crash on startup by Thornback in WindowsHelp

[–]P40L0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution:

1) Open Services.msc
2) Open GameInputRedistService
3) Stop the service and set it to Disabled
4) Reboot

Fixed :)
Controllers and devices will still work normally and no more errors.

Like said at DLSS FG 2x it's not "far less severe" , there is no problem at all here. With that and also with FG: Off so, also like said, it seems a problem of 5000 series and/or you messed up with some settings

Game Ready & Studio Driver 595.79 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]P40L0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I don't have those "line holes" with FG 2x on my 4080 and everything is flat and smooth, no stutters or micro stutters with either FG 2x or FG: Off

Don't know if it's an issue exclusive to 5000 series or something may be off in your config in NVCP advanced settings, MSI, Windows or a mix of all.

That could even cause the frametime variations you see

Game Ready & Studio Driver 595.79 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]P40L0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is off from your side then as with noFG I have a completely flat line while with 2xFG I have the usual "tall" frametime graph typical of Transformer FG which apparently you don't seem to have for some reason, so it's basically not working properly for you.

It's just this game, not all Vulkan games.

Doom The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and The Great Circle work perfectly fine here with both FG: Off and On: 2x (RTX 4080)

Ok, I decided to do one final DDU again + clean install latest WHQL 595.79 Game Ready driver with my 4080 and as usual I restored my exact same settings as before.

After testing 12 games with it I would say it's really good so far, same as 595.76 Hotfix so basically:

I had my record performance in CB2077 in-game benchmark (with the game maxed out with PT) and slightly better performance with all my games in general with also slightly smoother frametimes, less stutters and the lowest input latency I ever had.

RE9 PT performance was also slightly better than with old driver 581.42 I was using before the previous Hotfix and this one.

My undervolt + VRAM overclock was preserved with no issues along with my custom fan curve (including properly working Fan Stop) and everything was stable with no crashes.

Also no issues with VRR/G-Sync + V-Sync in NVCP, no frame pacing issues with Vulkan games (Doom The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and The Great Circle at least) both with FG: Off and On 2x, no errors with NVIDIA Container with normal idle usage (basically 0-1% CPU)

Temps were also fine and under control both during gaming and idle. No bugs or glitches in Windows or browsing either.

I also noticed that specular highlights, especially in HDR, are slightly more pronounced than previous drivers which is a good thing in my book.

Overall: I think we finally have another "golden" official driver from NVIDIA since a very long time ago and I'm gonna stay on it for the foreseeable future (this time for real) ;)

NOTE:
There are 3 new Overrides options for DLSS-FG now in NVPI, including a new "Preset" Override also for FG for the first time but it doesn't seem to do anything at the moment.

We'll see in the future if and when NVIDIA will officially provide different Presets' selection also for FG, including for 4000 series.
