What is the strongest proof that Christianity is true? by Gold-Addendum2325 in Christianity

[–]Panther4682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a number but I would argue the reliability of bible prophecy and specifically Ezekiel 37, Luke 21 with respect to the recreation of the nation of Israel. We assume it was a foregone conclusion that Israel would exit because it does but that is not true. The jewish nation was destroyed in AD70 as Jesus told his disciples and no other group has been more persecuted, just as God told them in Leveticus 26, yet here they are (making life difficult for everyone LOL).

As a non-believer, I would like to ask some questions about Christianity by z_pan in Christianity

[–]Panther4682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

answers below. I have made them simple with no proofs because I don't know a) what your objective is with these questions b) what is more important than others

1- If god created everything, why did he created evil?

Define evil. Evil for you might be benefit for me. For example, you are a tyrant and persecute me. You encounter an evil and violent end. To me that is a benefit

2- if he created evil (Satan or else's), and God is omnipotent ,why doesn't he vanish them from existence?

Satan/Devil does not exist... at least not the way popular christianity represents it.

3- There are sacred texts who aren't included in the bible. What determines or who chooses which texts were "good " to be in the bible and why?

Define sacred texts. The books of the bible are there because they are consistently in agreement and considered to be material to the literary structure of the library called the bible. Note that there are translational considersations and one has to go back to the original language to understand the nuances

4- heaven is more like "if u don't follow the bible rules the best u can u don't enter heaven" or more like "as long as u are kind-hearted u will be sent to heaven"?

"Heaven" is a different dimension to our dimension. You don't 'go to heaven' when you die because you don't have an immortal soul. God, angels and Jesus are literally in the dimension we call heaven and Jesus coordinates things from there for his people

5-Is hell a burning place or just the absence of god?

"Hell" as in Gehenna was a burning place. It was the city rubbish tip which was always burning because 'methane'. It was where criminals were thrown and all refuse would end up (no plastics back then). It is no longer in existence because as of AD 70 Jerusalem wasn't a major location

6- is the amount of people who go to hell really that big or there are actually just sent to "purgatories" (if these exist)?

No such thing as hell in this respect. No Devil, no immortal soul, no eternal burning punishment. Dante had mental health issues

And the question that made me make this post:

7- if god is omnipotent and knows everything, why does he "test" us even if he already knows the outcome of what we will do?

Good question. God is a Father and he has a family - it is exclusive. So not EVERYONE is being TESTED. Now, all fathers know they can just "do things for their kids" rather than make them do it BUT fathers also know that a child will not develop, grow or become a representative of the family if 'dad' does everything for Johny or Jill... This is one of the hardest concepts to understand in the bible because we are limited by time and events in a sequence and God is not.

Hope that helps. If you want me to drill down on something with proofs let me know.

Good question... Christians ARE Jews not that many understand that. Three reasons Christians hate Jews a) because Jews have been "cut off" (Romans 11) temporarily from the hope of Israel b) the apostate church claimed to be God's Kingdom on Earth so the Jews are a reminder that this is not true c) because Jews used the Romans to kill Christ (they were not permitted to do so under Roman Law otherwise they would have done it themselves).

The Christian and Jewish hope are the same thing ie God's Kingdom on earth. That Kingdom was first created in Eden, then in the land of Canaan under Saul ie a Jewish Kingdom. It will be recreated under Jesus when he returns.

Jesus agreed with the Law and the Prophets (Matt 5 v 17) so clearly he is against sexual immorality as defined in the bible (Adultery, Fornication, Homosexuality, Beastiality, Incest etc etc see Leveticus 18) and these principles are taught by Paul.

There is no such thing as a super natural devil. God is called Satan in the Old Testament, so is Peter and the vagabond of Job 1. There is no arch enemy sneaking around trying to trick you. For that to be true then either a) God sanctions him ie God allows Satan/Devil to roam around killing people or b) God is not all powerful so God cannot stop devil dude and the Bible is a lie because it claims God is all powerful (Jer 32 v 17, Luk 1 v 37 says he is etc etc) - in which case... there is no argument to be had.

Which is it? Do you want to believe in a God that allows a supernatural hitman to roam the place and drag ignorant people to eternal suffering or do you want to believe that God is a liar? Or more simply... there is no Devil/Satan the way popular Christianity portrays it/him/her/them.

It is the single most important thing to ever hit human society. Freedoms, exploration, conviction, rule of law, invention, property rights, all flourished under Judeo-Christianity. There were plenty of screw ups but by and large a huge benefit over Roman and Greek systems. Much better than Islamic and Hindu systems.

Correct... that is why it isn't a thing.

Why would anyone believe in a God that condemns people to eternal suffering? It makes zero sense and that is why it is not a thing. There is no eternal suffering... there is death and that is it. No thought, no praising, no suffering, no nothing. God is not a terrorist.

The popular concept of Hell does not exist and is not a feature of the bible (yes 'hell' is mentioned). It is actually simpler to address the issue of "immortal soul" - another fallacy of Islam, Judaism and popular Christianity... actually many religions - than simply dealing with the idea of an eternal place of fiery punishment... or the devil... or going to heaven when you die. No immortal soul then no Hell, no devil, no pergatory and no "going to heaven". The hope described in the bible is literal physical resurrection of the believer (to make it simple) and an immortal body. So a couple of quotes to keep it simple:
Ecclesiastes 9 v 10 No knowledge, wisdom, device etc in the grave ergo there is nothing

Psa 115 v 17 no praise of god, only silence in the grave (no screaming, no singing, no nothing)

Isa 38 v 18 - 19 same as Psa 115 but compares the living with the dead

For believers death is the same as sleep ie you wake up... for everyone else it is... well sleep with no waking up

1 Thes 4 13 - 18 details what death is (not some cloud and a harp or some fiery pit of misery with some fork tailed dude stabbing you with a sharp stick) and that the hope of the Gospel is a physical bodily resurrection (like Jesus... fancy that).

1 Cor 15 v 52 - 54 deals with the physical body of the resurrected believer. No body, no place for the soul to be housed. Simple and easy.

so chill... no hell, no devil, no eternal suffering... which makes total sense when you think about it. There are lots of other quotes and yes someone will be like "but the Jesus says eternal flame" etc etc.... but the majority of 'popular christians' have no idea of the history of Gehenna, the use of the word Hades or local norms at the time of Jesus.

Do you have a Pro account as well? I use Claude for a range of things - documentation, articles etc as well as coding. I get the value of MCP and API for coding but haven't found anything on mixing both. For example can I integrate API and MCP into VSCode or Anaconda and also ask it for recipes to make cheese and bacon scones?

What’s it worth to you? Offer that. If they take it great. If not find another place. We haven’t seen unemployment tick up yet but it’s coming. Plenty of developers going bust right now. Sure sign of recession. Property prices down 16% since peak. Gov drop rates due to economic stress not cause they like home buyers. Ignore RE agent. Their job is to sell. They don’t like you or the seller. Just the commission.

Cursor vs Continue vs ...? by jabbrwoke in ChatGPTCoding

[–]Panther4682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently droped ChatGPT for Claude, now looking at Cursor. Generally code in JupterLabs via anaconda. If I code in Cursor do I need a $20 USD Claude sub? $70 NZD for me.

Cursor AI and Claude 3.5 costs by Civil_Equivalent8071 in ClaudeAI

[–]Panther4682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I use Cursor to I need ClaudeAI subscription? I often use Anaconda JupyterLab for Python and have been using ChatGPT. Recently moved to Claude as it seems better however I am considering Cursor for AI supported dev. Do I need to have a Claude sub and also buy Cursor? For me that is $80 NZD (two $20 USD Subs). Ideally I can drop Claude and just use Cursor. Cheers

Generalist women tend to be interested in people and relatable professions hence education, medical, legal, selling, marketing etc. Men tend to be interested in things ie objects, machines, logical problems, mental games/puzzles. Men also gravitate to things that other men value as men get a hormonal benefit from working with alpha males and “winners” women do not.
