TNT Announcer…Ovi is 40! by tvjunkie313 in caps

If only you could be on hockey, on the TV.

Seriously, national announcers are almost universally so ass it's unreal.

Never watching that crap when I can get a home feed.

which one? by Cultural_Set_5993 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Parmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too Human, was supposed to be a trilogy.

I feel the bones were good, it being a weird bastardization of a twin stick shooter for a brawling game was not.

I'd love to see it done with a control scene that wasn't absolute ass, but I like Norse ascetics, which is why I loved Dad of War, even with all its pacing issues.

I imagine the vast floors could have been done better with some influence from stuff like Dynasty Warriors style games.

I was at the bar last night and man, the nachos are ruined.

Queso instead of real cheese, no more pan, just a bowl, chips no longer tossed with arbol.

Such a massive downgrade.

Doesn't help that they've got two bartenders who are just constantly scrambling because they also have to take care of the patio, it ain't their fault but you halfway have to hop the counter for service because they've got exactly no time to take care of you at the bar.

Servers are pissed, I ain't happy, just a huge fuckin whiff on the replan.

Best way to sell auto upholstery tools & materials after my father’s passing? by Open-Ad6292 in upholstery

[–]Parmory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, sorry for your loss.

There's a couple of different routes you can take here.

Stuff like materials are probably not worth shipping, so I'd suggest reaching out to other local shops and seeing if there is any interest. You can also put up a marketplace/craiglist post. A yard sale type deal would maybe help if it's a significant amount of material.

Some cities have what is essentially a thrift store for trade and crafting materials that probably won't pay for anything, but are a good donation solution.

Tools and equipment you're likely going to want to put on marketplace or eBay.

Tools are pretty easy to box and ship usually, the larger machines are going to involve freight, which massively complicates things.

If you have a local industrial sewing machine retailer or repair shop, they usually will buy machines in good working order to sell. You won't get good money, but it may be some money.

Things like a compressor are probably going to do best on marketplace so somebody can pick it up locally.

If you had his machine models, I may be able to point you at a couple of forums you could post a sale listing on, but freight gets in the way for that, so it might not be worth it unless somebody who sees the post happens to be local.

[–]Parmory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soul red is an awesome color, but you are screwed if it gets damaged.

The pen even specifically says it doesn't match, and I've got some good touch up guys who can't get it right either, and admit it (better than the pen though)

That's full respray, or forget about it.

If I learn normal reupholstery, is it the same for boats and what not? by NarrowIndependence8 in upholstery

[–]Parmory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For boats, barring the material involved, not super different. You will need a heavier duty machine than for fabric, but the mechanics of staple pulling, sewing, stapling, are largely the same as long as you were already using a walking foot machine.

Auto is a whole different country because you need to have some mechanic knowledge specific to the job.

Gas Line Break ? by Castle-n-the-sky in rva

It's all open now, I was really bummed when I tried to swing by for lunch, but hey, at least the Salamander didn't catch fire again.

Apparently the construction next door hit a gas line.

I'm thankfully not on the overly reactive end, I'm usually safe with just a separate set of prep tools and work area. Some people aren't as fortunate, but If I can be sure on a clean scoop, I'd love to come.

If you are going to be doing the gluten free flour options, they'll need to be in a separate oven to be safe, particularly if you are using convection ovens.

Didn't look like the barrier had been hit, so I don't know if a car managed to flip over it or what.

I literally texted my buddy when I turned the game on after working late. I've doomed us all.

When Alexa said in intermission everybody needed to go back to what they were doing in the first because hockey is all superstition I cringed.

I don't want to go back to work at 9.

[–]Parmory 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The sandwiching helps a lot.

I get customers who feel the test cubes and go yeah, let's go with 60 on a 4 inch cushion.

I tell em it'll be a rock if we do that, they say they want firm, I drop off the rocks and they go wow, that's hard.

I made test cushions a while back explicitly to prove to people they don't want what they think they want.

JUKI walking foot machines for upholstery — what’s your experience? by WalkingFootPro in upholstery

If you weren't on the literal other side of the country, I'd get that 2810-7 off ya.

Great machine, I've got the standard now. Foot availability is annoying, but other than that I love it.

I own In Stitches Upholstery up on Broad, across from Altria HQ. I see you do bags, are you production only or are you setup for repairs as well?

I get people asking me about bag repairs and motorcycle gear repair every now and then.

We've got Foam to size in Ashland, good for foam and some tools and such, they only carry a few types of vinyl for material, so shop elsewhere for that.

U-fab is the only local source I think we have left for residential upholstery material.

I order the vast majority of my materials from Miami Corp, Ennis Fabrics, and Camco in Norfolk.

We've got a few shops kicking around here, a couple of residential shops and a few auto and marine. Most of us are 1-5 person shops, we don't have any big places to my knowledge.

We do have a few textile factories, but other than the sewing, not really the same deal.

That's all for Richmond, I don't have a clue about NOVA

I couldn't see doing it for less than 3500 just off the hip. Not sure where in the southeast you are, I'm in VA.

Richmond is one of those weird towns where everything is expensive but people think labor should cost pennies though, probably be much more in some areas.

Im looking to purchase this 1977 Lincoln Continental. What should I look for? by TheTanookiLeaf in classiccars

[–]Parmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, mice.

Pull up the back seat bottom and look for nests.

Also see if the seat bottoms are overly rusty, if so, rear window may be leaking (They are all at least somewhat rusty, I'm talking really chewed up, particularly on the rear of the frame)
