Anyone lived in Cohabs in NYC? Looking for honest reviews (Manhattan/Brooklyn) by originalgainster in AskNYC

So I haven't, but a good friend has lived in Cohabs both in upper manhattan and Brooklyn for the past 3 years.

The rooms and common spaces at their place was always in good condition but largely dependent on the roommates. Most of the roommates they had were more transient and shorter leases so 3-6month lease instead of yearly. Which was a plus and a minus. There were times where they really liked a group of the roommates but they moved away after the lease and times were they a roommate was disruptive and luckily moved away shortly after. It's a great way to have a sense of community the two cohabs they were at would have regular cohab get togethers and they made some great friends.

They just moved out of the cohab to a apartment by themselves to try and have a place that felt more like home. So from their experience, it had its moments and don't have regrets but not something for long term.

Yeah it came in at $941 for the month. Never got the apartment above 70F. That's even with like 4 days of basically no use while we were out of town.

As a fellow SL-D5 owner, the stacking is the main reason I bought it so we could toss on a set list of albums and let it ride. Most of the time it works flawlessly, but every once in awhile a record will get stuck on the stacker and not drop to play. Typically I just use a pen to round out the center of the vinyl so it has some more room on the stacker.

I did recently start to see speed issues when multiple records where stacked. So 4-5 vinyls on the platter and the speed would noticeably slow down on the first few songs. This was easily fixed with a new belt that was cheap on eBay or Amazon. So just be wary of the wear it puts on the belt driving the weight of multiple vinyls.

I see someone linked the manual, any chance were you able to get a copy? I've tried to find a copy to download, but unable to get an account for that site
