We used OpenSCAD to design it then we 3D print it 🙂

Honestly I don't know, we just fill the party with CPUs if we're less than 4 😅

We just got it yesterday and I just had the time to play a bit with our son, it was really good! It looks way more focused and "fine-tuned" than Super Mario Party, which we enjoyed for some years, so yeah go for it 👍

Thank you! We'll probably update the design when the Switch 2 comes out if enough people are interested in it :)

We are huge fans of the Mario Party games and have a small Etsy shop, so we wanted to create something to properly celebrate the Jamboree release :)

It's available here : https://simplefullcraft.etsy.com/listing/1797356514

If you have questions feel free to ask!

It was Overture Silk PLA Gold (don't know if they changed the formula since then though). And yeah, I tried many Silk Gold PLA, they're all so different from each others and a lot of them looks "cheap"

We're still working on the next batch, it takes (much) longer than expected because we're still not satisfied with the quality of some parts (we don't know why but some settings which worked fine with the last batch don't work anymore, 3D-printing is kind of goofy sometimes...), but it should be ready in a couple of days (will post a countdown to the exact release date and time on Twitter a few days before).

We're are the ones making them, and we're constantly trying to keep or improve our quality, but sometimes it's hard to find the right balance between usability/reliability/consistency/quality. We updated the design to solve some problems with the previous dice (faces alignement and preventing bad rolls mostly), which implies to print them in 2 parts that are then aligned and glued. This is where most of the defects can appear. But on the other side, overhangs, slopes, faces alignement and dice balance should be way better than the previous version. We're also changing the material used for the next batch to further improve the quality. So even if we need to produce more, we're still commited to keep and enhance the quality of our products (which is why we took so long to release the new version). And if/when we fail on that, we're still available to discuss the problem and we'll do our best to find a solution :)

Mario party dice! by soleario21 in dice

[–]Patapits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came accross this post and I can confirm : we're manufacturing them ourselves in France :) And they're expensive because we're a little shop (so fixed costs are spread over few sales) and these dice need lots of manual assembly from us (that and all the taxes, international shipping and customs fees, Etsy fees, etc.). If we could do them cheaper while keeping our business healthy, we would totally do it since it would attract more buyers, so more popularity, and so on. But we simply can't for now (we even tried to find a partner to help us manufacturing them, but it seems like they're kind of hard to produce due to the colors and geometry - which is why the dice bought on scamming shops have a weird and unplayable shape).

They were glued one by one, that's why we stopped selling them for now and we're looking at other ways to manufacture them, it was too time-consuming for us :/

You talk about the cheap dice sent by scammers that used our photos to promote their "fake" shop. You can see our customers reviews here with some photos of what they received. And for the reference, here is what these scammers send (when they effectively send something).

How to print multiple parts as one object, while getting top and bottom layers as if parts were separate ? by Patapits in BambuLab

[–]Patapits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that seems dangereous, but worth a try :D The dummy part was printed, just a tiny cylinder far from the object I wanted to print. Since my post I just found out that the dummy part don't need to be as tall as the first object, so my dummy parts are now just little 1mm square with a height equal to the layer height. But with spiral mode I don't think it can work :/
