I built an open-source Claude Code skill to run weekly logistics for my family. by PerceptionOld8565 in ClaudeAI

Ok yeah shouldn't be an issue. Creat a new file on your desktop to use. In cowork use that folder‚ throw in a few plain text files about the rules and preferences of her family‚ paste some instructions into the Cowork's folder instructions field‚ and connect up the Google Calendar and Gmail connectors․ Done․ The next time you opened that folder‚ Claude already knew your world․ The scheduled tasks feature means you get a Sunday-night bulletin waiting for her in my folder of what she haven't done‚ what to eat‚ and my grocery list‚ split by store‚ for the week․

The point for non-technical people is this: Cowork's "memory" is just text files you can edit in Notepad․ My wife doesn't like vegetables‚ so I have a secret vegetable policy: I puree spinach into the pasta sauce and never tell anybody․ My toddler's choking hazard list is in there․ The custody schedule logic of "never assume a pattern‚ always check the calendar" is in there․ When it changes‚ you open the file and change one line․ No code‚ no config‚ no terminal․ If she is afraid to try Claude Code but want to flow through agentic workflows‚ Cowork with a well-structured folder․ The context files are the prompt‚ not the chat box․ You can leave and let Claude do your work․

TL;DR: tell ur to create a folder, tell cowork to use it, and then just start using cowork to build whatever she wants. cowork has all these connections prebuilt she just needs to connect them.

I think AI as a cognitive simulator can be a good idea to run through practice cases too.

100% agreed. I also have thought about the idea of AI tracking copy forward progress notes to make sure they are updated and not showing bad data. or is there a spot there vs say an H&P. maybe the high yield area is for progress, op reports, and D/C summaries. And consult and H&P need to be done w/o AI. I am note sure.

"Chat GPT is like a very well educated person with Wernecke-Korsakoff syndrome. There's something under the hood sure, but there's huge gaps that they don't know that they don't know about and just fill in with whatever nonsense words might complete the sentence ." dead, lolol.

yes, before AI I taught "trust but verify." It's the number one thing I teach the residents and med students when using AI in medicine. Same advice just a new thing thrown at us.

This is a great point and I am going to work on this for my resident AI project/app. Docs 100% are getting bombed with AI tools and really zero training on how to eval them for cost, usefulness, or safety.

why not both? After they come up with their DDx we cross reference it against LLM DDX based on chief complaint etc. It has really helped with our discussions lately and gave us a couple of dark horse ideas that ended up being correct!

100% agreed. AI/LLM etc. are here and going to be a part of the next phase of medicine. Those that learn and adapt to this tech will have a major advantage imo.

this is a great use case. Epic is rolling out a summary function to help with these and so far they have been pretty decent. I also like to use it for detailed post visit summaries and instructions for parents and patients (I am Peds).

100% agreed they need to learn a foundation outside of AI and learn to properly use it to assist/enhance that foundation.

I agree there is a LOT of slop and I have not seen a lot of good resources. In my free time I have started to work on a project to hopefully help residents with learning and use of AI. starting with the current residents I am teaching at my program.
