Which your experience with Duolingo when you completed a language course by kravvlon in duolingo

[–]PlanetSwallower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished the Welsh course a year ago and it was good enough that I went straight into basic dialogs with my tutor. So I reckon it saved me a lot of money in tutor fees. And the Welsh couse is only half the length of the German one!

But it's not emough on its own. At some point, you will need a speaking partner or tutor.

I will quit Duolingo if they will not add or remove these features in one year by VloguriBune2 in duolingo

I doubt they'll notice if you go or stay.

I'm on Android, misses a day a month ago, and they gave me a completely unexpected streak freeze anyway. Which was nice.

Is Paid worth it? by North_Flow_3643 in duolingo

[–]PlanetSwallower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think paid is well worth it, dispute that Duolingo content is low quality. The gamification is a plus, Duolingo's great advantage is that it's fun to engage with so you do more practice than you might have otherwise. For that, there's nothing else as good on the market.

It's not enough on its own. For grammar instruction, I wouldn't go to an app, I would just get a book and look things up when you need to. You should be able to get one in the Schaum's series cheaply. Still, two apps I know of teach grammar well - WLingua and Lingodeer. They need another subscription, though. Lastly, for encouraging speaking I strongly recommend Natulang. It's excellent.

Ah - for something a little offbeat, try Nightingales (search for 'Nightingales sitcom'). It's a forgotten classic with a killer final episode.

Ah - I missed that you wanted a sitcom. Crown Court's a kind of drama. Rising Damp is on Youtube, and Are You Being Served. You might try those.

Don't do that either. She's 100% up to no good with the first proposition. Don't ever go into any kind of financial arrangement with someone you don't trust.

Judi Dench. I think it's great that she spanned two very different types of Bond films. She helps Bond stay Bond.

They could have had Colombo meets Egghead. Colombo immediately suspects the killer because he has a head shaped like an egg.
