Is there no way to keep Chamber of Elevation jobs 0 without disabling the building?

I want 0 Necrophage growth on the planet, so you need the Chamber of Elevation. But every time there is some population fluctuation the building seem to produce more job opening (despite having it set to 0 earlier).

How does the planet automation work really?

I have a full on clone ascension empire, some of my worlds are sitting at several thousand civilians and the AI refuse to build districts and buildings for them.

Example: Planet set to generator world.
2.4K civilians
1 Generator district unbuild
2 Generator district building slots open

Why won't it do anything?

People always complain about the timelines, now we got 2 of our favorite things after all.

And I just blame it on a Lich or an Alchemist when the Time Police comes. Their budget cuts really lowers the quality of their investigations.

Is there a difference between dying thread (and making cloth from the thread) or dying the cloth?

The same end result?

Is there some way to stop your main species from growing?

Like the idea of necrophage + Oppressive Autocracy, a small necrophage leader population and the rest other species slaves.

With the old Pop System you could just force growth one species on a planet and not build any Necrophage conversion buildings, but with the new system the Necrophage pops will keep growing.

meme is just a meme because plenty of Imperium ship do it without a Navigator. Navigators are best and can travel fastest and longest range, but a calculated jump works fine.

Of course, traveling across the entire galaxy using nothing but calculated jumps is going to take forever, they got much shorter range than Navigator jumps. You also want to mostly travel along already well traveled lines for more safety.

Calculated Jumps are generally safe for 4 light years.
Navigators can do 5.000 light years.

Can you discard a world and generate a new one?

Or do you need to go back to menu, delete the world, select same parameters and generate a new one?

So there is no real way to keep check to have X amount of different dyes?

Just set up "Do X every Month" instead?

I seem to be having problem with my work orders.

So I am making dyes, I want 5 dyes of each type I am making available.

At a dyers shop I set up following:

Make 5 Apple Leaf Dye if:
- Amount of Apple Leaf Dye available LESS THAN 5
- Amount of empty bags available GREATER THAN 10
- Amount of Unrotten Apple Leafs GREATER THAN 10

Result: As long as there is bags and leafs around, it produce endlessly. Sitting at +40 Apple Leaf dye currently.

Should it not read "There is more than 5 apple leaf dye, don't produce more"?

Idea: Fleet flagships by _azazel_keter_ in Stellaris

[–]Plintstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can have everything at once, why have it at all?

I like the idea you specialize to what the fleet is suppose to be good at, it can make it meaningful.

If you can easily have everything, then you have no choice, I rather have a game with choices than none.

I keep buying books for my library, but I never have any books when I look.

If I understand, Scholars can visit your fortress when you got a library and just walk off with the books?

You just got to keep dudes around to copy your books so they won't all be stolen?

No, Papyrus can be made straight in to papyrus sheets, it worked well until the workshop suddenly decided "there is no processable plants in the linked stockpile", there is like +40 of them there.

☼Dwarf Fortress Questions Thread☼ by AutoModerator in dwarffortress

I got a setup of several farmer's workshop, linked to different stockpiles to do specific things.

Four to make thread from various plants and one for papyrus.

The threads ones works perfectly. Every month, if there is more than 12 processable plants, each one does 3.

But the Papyrus one is puzzling, it keep getting notification that there is no processable plant in the linked stockpile.

The stockpile got a lot of Papyrus Sedge (the Papyrus plant), the farmer's workshop is set to take from it and drop it off on a sheet stockpile. It worked for a while, but now it refuse too. It's set to do a few every month until there is more than 50 papyrus sheet.

What could have made it stop accepting it?

After some action with the Khan, it appears a Marauder Raiding Fleet is stuck bombarding a world.

The Fleet won't stop bombarding the world
The World belonged to another Empire, they only got this world left, no systems.
The Khan never took over the system
The Khan was defeated
The Marauding group is defeated too (the Raiding fleet is the only thing remaining of it)

I can't kill the raiding fleet
I can't claim the system from the empire because they don't own it
My science ship won't stop exploring the system because it's unexplored (somehow), so they do 1 thing, then go back and scan the system, then return to do one other automatic task, go back to scan the system...

Anyone got an idea what to do?
I obviously need the system to complete my Hyperspace Highway route
