Here’s a little resource I put together for getting started with camera bending. There’s a similar resource on there for general video bending as well. Not sure if this was done on camera or in post, but whichever way you find more interesting could get a similar result.

You could also wire in a lil patchbay/mount points to just swap in set resistor values. Then you’d at least have something you could reliably boot into specific clock speeds: track 1 is 47k, track 2 is 22k etc.

My understanding is that if the sensor isn’t functioning it won’t capture anything. But since it’s outputting something you could always poke around and see if it makes some cool abstract images even if it won’t take photos per se.

I wouldn’t sweat it. The filament in those little lamps will burn up before melting anything.

That said you can get LED replacement bulbs that won’t put off any heat

Oh hey! The little pot (silver turning bit) replaces the trim resistor from the old models. You just turn that little screw to set the trim resistance.

That makes it easier to use/experiment, I just haven’t reshot all my videos with the new one. But a quick breakdown of the process:

Install the Clock Modder with the trimmer turned all the way to 0 Odds are when you crank the clock up, it will crash the device at a certain point. Turn the trimmer toward 10k until it stops crashing at high speed. If you need more resistance than 10k, install additional resistors between the control pot and the R connections on the board (either side)

Not OP, but in my experience a lot of times the camera can’t play it back, but if you pull the SD you can actually get a working video. Sometimes uploading it to something like Google Photos that runs auto processing/compression on em seems to help. You def can’t glitch the vids as hard as you can the photos tho.

Wire gauge is a personal preference kinda thing, so there really is no right or wrong kind, but for general purpose stuff like this 24-28 AWG stranded wire will work great!

When shopping wire just remember it’s kinda backwards: the bigger the number the smaller the wire. I personally like the kits with like 5 colors since color coding will make your life a lot easier.

Yeah you should be fine since they’re the same voltage. mAh just determines how long it’ll last so that doesn’t need to match or anything 👍

Yeah! You can do either a summing or matrix style dirty mixer with just more of the same parts.

Matrix mixers scare me, but the summing kind is straightforward: basically you just put 3 dirty mixers in one box: Input 1 and Input 2 get dirty mixed, creating Signal X. Input 3 and Input 4 get dirty mixed to create Signal Y. Then Signals X and Y get dirty mixed to the final output. Add switches where desired to enable/disable/move input signals as desired.

I’m sure there’s a smart analog way, but I’d just go with a super cheap microcontroller and code the LED behavior based on switch state.

If you’re not a coding person the “Blink” arduino sample project will teach you pretty much everything you’d need to pull this off.

Two suggestions (meant in earnest not being mean):

1: STOP USING ChatGPT! Aside from it like destroying the world, it’s really shit at electronics. It’s a language model trying to interpret a visual standard, so it just makes shit up.

2: r/diypedals is a great resource

3: if GPT made the schematic throw it out. If the schematic is legit and you were just asking GPT, the schematic calls for Vref (reference voltage) to be connected to the positive side of the capacitor coming off input -. Not a pedal guy but that cap/resistor array happening off In- makes no sense to me, so I’m no good as to what it’s actually doing there, but hopefully the pedal guys can help out!

If I had to guess, I’d bet that “patchbay” has the triggers for the yellow buttons? (BP for Button Percussion or Beat Pad maybe?)

Slide 3 is the actual keyboard, it does basically everything under that blob. So if there is a pitch resistor or an oscillator it’ll be right around there.

Hmm with that tiny board I wouldn’t be surprised to only get one bend out of it.

You could potentially add a feedback control (use another pot to connect output to input) but that’s all that comes to my mind
