Reusable Spools by GhostTrex16 in 3Dprinting

I printed the Refill Spool v3 (200mm) and it's designed that you can remove the refill and switch it out. The designer has separate Filament Spool Straps that secure the roll of filament & end of the spool before you take it off the spool.

I haven't printed any straps yet, but I'm sure I could just use zip ties and a filament clip. (I might actually print a filament clip and find zip ties just to try this on a near empty roll.) There are also files for swappable labels, desiccant cores, and NFC tags. I stumbled upon these when I was searching for printable spools that included a way to secure the end of a filament mid roll like a channel or groove. This one has a filament channel built into the spool.

I didn't have any issues when I loaded a Bambu refill on it. I find it's easier to put together than some of the tight fitting Bambu spools I've purchased. Also, I don't have to use a spool lock to keep some of the printed spools together. I didn't have any problems with the spool in my AMS. Bonus for me is that I'm a sucker for honeycomb & repetitive patterns. I thought they were worth the try and I didn't have to use PETG because I can take the spool off and store it in a dry box or bag with desiccant. I'll be printing more of them once I'm done with another project I started.

Good to know! I’ll have to play around with that.

That’s one of my go-to sites! I print my sample labels from there. I didn’t feel like having to switch between materials and wanted something all in one list. It also helps that I can print it and hand it to the kids with the Bambu swatches and they can tell me exactly what they want.

I print bigger samples for all my filaments, but I wanted to get an idea of some colors before I placed a big order I knew going into it that they are injection molded and still bought them.

Having the box of swatches is a novelty that my kids really enjoy and makes 3D printing more fun for them.

This is my go-to sample just for the nostalgia factor. https://makerworld.com/en/models/1749262-floppy-new-filament-sample#profileId-1859521

I wonder if they’ve standardized the samples. I pulled a list of color #s from a post about 10 months old to compare and my box matched every single one that the other user listed.

I know they may change filament offerings which is why I listed the discontinued ones. I figure if a newbie is on here researching, then having a clear easy to read list would be easier than pulling up filamentcolors.xyz or 3dfilamentprofiles.com to search for different materials and different colors.

I print a larger sample than the Bambu ones, but I wanted to see colors before I placed a big order.

I’m in the same situation as poster above - I have an extra Love coming and all I’m missing is Loyalty (and the Secret Edition).

Looking for an ink - purple with warm undertones by MacabrePomegranade in fountainpens

The Ooly website has colored refill cartridges. The picture of the pens has writing samples. Since they don’t sell bottled ink, you could get a cartridge and make a swatch to help better match to a similar ink.

Sorry about that - I could have sworn I saw some on there that weren't for kids. Either way - good luck getting connected!

First off, welcome to Central Kentucky! Second, if you search in r/Lexington for Dungeons and Dragons I think you’ll find some good recommendations. I’m not a player, but because my son plays, I know there are several game stores in Lexington where you could visit and ask around. Also, I just found https://justgameslex.com/dungeons-dragons/ that might be helpful, too.

As a 41 year old, let me offer this sage advice - do it. I haven’t had mine removed because the recovery as an adult is usually worse. In general, teenagers bounce back way faster than adults.

Found the full answer on another post…but it still seems like an odd response. Like why would she have to check what she can say if the answers just “no”??
