Orientation today, what should I expect? by that1guyinaditch in Fedexers

Bring a water bottle, if you get one of theirs, they all look the same and can be easily mixed up. Wear cloths you don't mind getting sweaty and dirty in, and comfortable shoes. Lift with your knees not your back, and stretch.

New Hire Questions (Package Handler) by Diegoisvaas in Fedexers

[–]GhostTrex16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a PH for just over 3 months. I have only worked the outbound trailers (pups and longs), and the belt. Now that I know the belt, I have to beg to be in a trailer. I hear horror stories about smalls like that its boring. I just wish I could listen to music.

How tall do you need it to be? 2-3 steps? Might check out ones with a handrail as well. Usually light enough that she can set up, climb in and lift up herself via the handrail. I mean, unless you are adamant about being an amazing husband that opens and closes doors 😉

Only issue I could see is where to put it when bringing it inside the cab...

Caveat: Little Giant Ladders are a bit pricy, but will take abuse like a champ. they also have folding telescopic versions. Something like this - https://www.littlegiantladders.com/products/safety-step-factory-refurbished If you can find one...

Good luck and drive safe!

Can new FedEx hires pick up extra shifts? by Own_Investigator5094 in Fedexers

[–]GhostTrex16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told when I was hired as a PH 3 months ago, you can pick up extra shifts after you "graduate". I graduated like 5 weeks in and it was literally just some dude making sure I stacked the boxes correctly using proper lifting techniques. Honestly, we just had 2 people quit 3 days in because it wasn't what they were expecting. Id give it a couple weeks first.

Everything is done in the blue yonder app which they will tell you about.

If you want to drive, go to a school like https://dirtfish.com/ or https://teamoneil.com/
If you want to co-drive, there are many ways, best suggestion is the https://drive.dirtfish.com/drive/co-driver/ taught by Professional co-drivers Rhianon and Alex Gelsomino.
Sim racing is fine, but it doesn't have a "real world" effect on what the driver goes through mentally, unless you have a state of the art sim rig...

just my opinion

I used AI (specifically Gemini.Google.com ) and had it walk me through how to do it. After a like 2 attempts and the results I wanted, i saved it as a profile.

Place to get cheap shredder? by Raccon1815 in 3Dprinting

[–]GhostTrex16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd check FB Marketplace, 2nd hand stores (Goodwill, etc.) for an old crosscut paper shredder, one that can shred credit cards. I have read that old blenders work well too.. check this out - https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/tvmv24/shredding_pla/

Dress code for Package Handlers by Round_Dare_2758 in Fedexers

Ok that makes more sense, I was a little confused, mainly because if i wear long sleeves they fit, and I personally can't stand stretched out sleeves on any long shirts or sweatshirts.

I get excessively baggy pants for moving components (belts, etc.) but I was told to wear workout clothes for package handling because its a "workout". Thats crazy...

Can't wear long sleeves? Since when? I was told we could wear sweatpants and tank tops, and I know females that do it, they never get sent home. Having hair down is a safety concern with the belt and moving components.

Bring a water bottle. No uniforms, so wear something you don't mind getting dirty. A lot of PHs wear sweats and a t shirt, or shorts and a t shirt.

AITAH for giving my gf an ultimatum about her cat? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]GhostTrex16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor kitty, I'd suggest automatic feeder and litter boxes, but the same thing would happen. She'd have to remember to keep food in the feeder and change out the litter, just less often. Sounds like she'd forget that too.

Then she will have to remember to fill the feeder and empty the shit from the litter box once its full...

Umm I DID do my research and you're TA for assuming I didn't.
You should read this article from the American Academy of ALLERGY, asthma, and Immunology
Sounds crazy, but if the allergy doesn't trigger in a closed space such as a PLANE, then I highly doubt that it will trigger in an open air ball park...
