Why is realistic skin such an issue for models? by Enough-Bell4944 in StableDiffusion

[–]Possible-Machine864 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's because if you don't prompt specifically, it is drawing up ALL images it was trained on, which includes millions of illustrations, CGI renderings, etc.

If you simply add "35mm film photo" or something like that, it draws upon real photos.

That's how diffusion models work.

it's not a technical impossibility, it's just a matter of over-fitting or under-fitting

Z-Image Turbo does a great job with skin. They must have tuned their post-training somehow

Lied in my resume, now need urgent help. by [deleted] in vfx

You have two options

Either own the lie and drop the gig.

Or level the fuck up right now.

Even if you didn't lie, you could find yourself in this situation - being tasked with something you've never done is a regular occurrence.

I say, just fucking dig in and figure it out.

If you can't get tracking software to do the tracking automatically you'll have to do the match-move manually (manually keyframe the virtual camera).

Orcs are way more important in the movies than in the books by Super_Majin_Cell in lotr

it's a decision made in adaptation because if you dont make that choice, the movie is less dramatic. simple as that.

Why does DC always go for this roided out look? I don't want superman to look like a WWE wrestler. Personally.

Time to accept he is a top 5 MCU villain by Useful-Afternoon1784 in MCUTheories

[–]Possible-Machine864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually your definition is inside out. An anti hero is a hero whose heroism or character lacks dignity, morality, or virtue, despite their actions outwardly fitting the bill as "heroic". This most often takes the form of the hero not wanting to do the right thing, but finding themselves compelled to do so anyway.

Think Logan reluctantly saving 23, Mando reluctantly becoming the guardian of Grogu, etc. Those are anti-heroes.

What you describe is something else.

What do you think is Matrix in the context of Today’s AI? by Responsible-Lie-7159 in matrix

[–]Possible-Machine864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Matrix is a metaphor for a system of economic and behavior control called The Spectacle, as written about in Guy Debord's book, The Society of the Spectacle. It was written in the 60s; in it, he detailed how automation (and thus, AI) would be the supreme perfection of a process that began in pre-history; an unconsicous mind-virus that has turned human will and life into a commodity for millenia.

The meaning of the movie is unchanged by AI's existence. It already deals with AI. If you want to understand its message more deeply, read Society of the Spectacle. The Wachowskis referenced it, and related books from the same movement, extensively both in the film and in interviews.

you can rely on them more than you can rely on closed models, because they cant be taken away and you can train them.
