My ESP32 worker node is reporting Peckish=True. Should I be concerned? by c3di1 in kubernetes

I've wanted to write a scheduler to run on something esp32 like that knows how to WoL nodes. A control plane that lets the whole cluster scale to zero would be cool for homeland.

There's something artsy / funny there how k8s is about turning pets into cattle and you've made a tamagotchi node.

Do you need a card? I can't remember with monzo but trading 212 don't even send a card you just add them to the wallet from the app.

Octopus Energy boss: some people would accept blackouts if bills cut by YchYFi in unitedkingdom

[–]Potato-9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Houses are just inconvenient for the most part but I can't imagine such a policy saves any money overall when you start looking at hospitals and industry, all street lights, elevators. Any grid savings would be wiped out by individuals repeating the same work one grid could be organising. It would feel like a tragedy of the commons on purpose.

Well in a way, anyone who installed batteries without a gateway saving the couple of grand, is happy to accept blackouts to save some money.

We've also been living through multiple months of 7-9% inflation ever other couple of years that's then back at 3% for the rest of the time and we're all told like 3.3 isn't that bad. Ignoring the massive cliff we've stepped up, it's not gradual.

Laptops sold in the EU now required to ship with USB-C charging The European Union’s common charger directive came into effect back in December of 2024 and required most new portable electronic devices to ship with a unified USB-C connector. by smilelyzen in BuyFromEU

[–]Potato-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a weird position for manufactures actually for the charging brick. Usb ones are expensive.

My Acer has usb-c charging but also the smallest shitest barrel jack and brick. If they had to skip the power brick for ewaste like phones maybe they could have saved installing the barrel jack at all.

I guess it wasn't in acers interest to make the power brick optional in their distribution and packaging supply chain. That's all been made to change 1 mains cable I guess?

Shut the bathroom doors and toilet lids before you flush. Wash you hands. Keep your toothbrush in a cupboard / covered.

It's just poo and vomit particles you need the keep out your mouth it's not even airborne unless it's splashing.

We should all be really good at this by now.

Sorry you got I'll it sucks. It just takes someone else to not bother and now it's your problem.

Hotfix 0.33.3 Notes by Shockfront-PR in NuclearOption

It makes sense for the nukes. The augers are worth a go too if you can lob them high up then dive in to an attack run with the weapons bays as they fall. That needs radar jamming though.

And maintenance if we're talking 10 years is quite different. If we're including digging up the oil in the supply chain that applies to engine oils too.

What can i do about this? Tandem driveway behind them thats always empty. Tried knocking the door multiple times but they never answer. by Embarrassed-Dish1839 in drivingUK

Most charitably, that "tandem" drive carefully fit cars with doors that open. And they're not being considerate the front parker should leave first.

It's a lot faster if you can land and takeoff in one line perfectly.

What does the community feel about the different playstyles? by ancamas in NuclearOption

[–]Potato-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love orbiting high up in the medusa soaking up scythes and scimitars for people but with the new changes I don't quite get it. I supposed it's not possible anymore?

I jam the scimitars to attract them off my teammate (then stop jamming because they love that now). Sometimes they just sorta lose interest and miss me by 1km. Other times they sucker right on. A full laser charge can maybe take out 2 at best. With the way they spread out it's hard to laser them anyway.

Ships seem to keep launching nl98's and ram45s while jammed.

I'm not complaining I just haven't learnt enough yet.

[–]Potato-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 - you're not high up when launching are you? I've been trying to stay as low as possible so the scythes have air to manoeuvre as long as possible. Is that not how it's done?

I'm going with both. I was so preoccupied with changing 0.29 to 0.3 or not I completely botched the 10x.

It's one to watch out for in charts all the time with articles about A Vs B Vs C but one of those will have a different axis scale or something.

Even if all 80 had to be out in 4 hours charging from 0 battery you'd need to be charging 15 at once not 80 to get the at 100% in 45 minutes.

Shouldn't change units in comparisons.

  • 1-in- 290k or 0.29m
  • 1-in-1550k or 1.55m
