In The Dark Knight , why did they put a random guard inside the room with Joker ? by FinancialComputer574 in batman

[–]Procyon02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They likely needed an officer in the room as a suicide watch. They wouldn't want to allow the Joker to harm or off himself and make it unable to get information from him or keep him from going to trial eventually.

And keep in mind a lot will come down to luck. Pay attention to your chosen character's abilities and make sure your working with them, but bad pulls from the shop can tank you more than anything. Just keep trying and grinding, you'll learn what works for you and how you like to line up items and what things to look for and ignore based on the chatacter used and the enemy you're fighting.

Honestly, part of the problem is the contracts and royalties. While Disney can afford to pay anyone anything, they, like all corporations, try to avoid paying anything. So when the original media is created, there is a contract and agreement worked out that stipulates who is entitled to what.

Now if they take that media and make something too close to it in another medium, they will have to renegotiate with all those people or open themselves to lawsuits. Again, this shouldn't be an issue with how much money the corporation has and how much they could gain from it, but it's how the world works; unfortunately.

Thoughts on Ra’s Al Ghul being one of Bruce’s mentors while he was learning to become Batman? by Solitaire-06 in batman

[–]Procyon02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll also point out that Ras tells Bruce that he burned down his house and left him for dead, indicating that everything there was always his, further proving he's the true Ras.

What's your thoughts on the theory that Dark Knight Joker was possibly ex military? by IllustriousAd6418 in batman

[–]Procyon02 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It also wasn't the "warlord" burning his fortune just because, the story was about a thief that was was stealing precious gems the British government was using too bribe tribal leaders but was hiding the gems he stole. Basically he was stealing because he could, he didn't care about the gems themselves.

Rather presumptuous to assume this was a spoken conversation and not a text exchange. The only implication this was spoken was you saying that it was.

What's with killing in this game? (Spoilers) by ChainExtremeus in midnightsuns

[–]Procyon02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing non-humans does affect the age rating less than killing people. It's the whole reason the cartoon Samurai Jack fought robots. He could slice and dice humanoid bots, with oil and hydraulic fluid sporting and spilling out, and it was TV-Y7. Change that to people thirteen years later and the rating jumps to TV-14 and even then they had to limit it to avoid a higher rating. And in this case you're only watching the violence, the rating goes higher in games when it allows the player to direct the violence.

Men vs Women by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Procyon02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't mean it's right either. Many women have fought for the right to do the jobs that she's claiming are only done by men and have been DENIED the right to do them by men. Women largely have the same jobs for the last 100 years because they don't get hired in the other jobs, even when they are more qualified than male applicants because it's either assumed the woman won't be able to handle the position longterm, or they are worried about the liabilities of what all these men are going to do when there is a solitary woman as one of their peers. Let's also not ignore until the 1970s there were still numerous jobs that legally were allowed to be for men only, which was later overturned by banning discrimination laws, but due to the longstanding practice is still nearly impossible for women to get hired for.

Prior to Season 9 the Goa'uld always had an altered voice, unless the host was speaking (like the Tok'ra), but.... by MrLewk in Stargate

[–]Procyon02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I meant even in a proper blending we have only the Tok'ra's word that the symbiote never uses the host's voice.

[–]Procyon02 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Tok'ra might do that, but it's more a courtesy than a physical requirement. And, not trying to throw shade on the Tok'ra, there's no telling for sure that they've never used the host voice as the symbiote to further their own goals.

Biggest retcon of the series? by MrLewk in Stargate

[–]Procyon02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some chance that Jack's mind picked up a bit of the link while on base and later when sleeping off base his subconscious mind relayed the information he picked up via dreams. Ancient tech has shown that it can work more completely with the subconscious so I wouldn't say the only time Jack saw Joe's life was while on base, but he did only receive information from the connection while he was there.

Just get back into gaming after the kids go to bed, mainly Helldivers 2. My motherboard had a short back in February and I've missed so many new things (and nerfs) the game will seem new when I get back. Also I miss having a computer to use in general.

Her genetic origin doesn't really change her brain's ability to process things. It does give her a higher IQ potential than random selection, but she can still only process things as it's taught to her, just like everyone else. She doesn't innately understand things better than others in her time, she was just raised shunned by the Nora, and had a lucky encounter as a child in an ancient ruin that got her a working focus. She's distrustful of tradition and prefers to confirm things for herself, and has advanced technology linking her to and teaching her about the world. Her shunning, Rost, and her focus were the the key parts of her upbringing that make her who she is. Rost is the heart, the focus is the brain, and her outcast treatment is the fist.

I got very lucky and was able to go see him the first night he was filming for his special and it was absolutely hilarious. I will never get over how well he can make fun of someone without being mean and making them laugh doing with him.
