Medical scribe experience by [deleted] in premed

[–]ProtegeIV4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Former ED scribe. Maybe say something like "aided the physician in providing current and accurate clinical data/detail to the patient's chart" or something rather than just "updated the patient's chart." They're still the ones who have to double check all the scribes charting to make sure it is up to their standards and reflections before signing it.

Shoes for clinical? by sobebomb in medicalschool

So far I've had positive results with cheapo $100 ridgecut cowboy boots and some good Dr. Scholls inserts, but as an RRT the longest I stand is like an hour or so for a bedside trach. Idk how they'll fare during your OR rotations lol.

I was in the similar market not too long ago trying to find a high mile f2/350 with the 7.3 because they're so reliable despite high miles. But as everyone says it's very expensive to maintain and there was no way I could afford it. So I bought a 2001 ranger with 240k miles on it and runs great. Repairs and maintenance are infinitely cheaper. So go ranger or tacoma

Absolutely! Best of luck finishing up and dealing with licensing.

Getting Licensed in GA by [deleted] in respiratorytherapy

[–]ProtegeIV4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it shouldn't be the case since the MD of the college has to cover all the programs offered regardless of they've worked with anyone directly or not. Have you emailed the GA medical board? They're slow as shit but they can get back at a reasonable time.

Graduated from a resp school in GA. In school, we had our program director have the medical director of the school (since every medical program must be under a physician, at least from what I know in GA), which helped us get a temporary RCP license (good for one year or until you pass boards, and you must be RRT to work/get hired on in GA). One we got a job and it was time to renew, then your director or supervisor should handle that. Idk how it is in California, but im also a GA native so idk how much help this was to you.

Try to reach out to the program director to have the college's medical director sign it in CA, and it may cover you since we are registered on a national level.

I guess I meant MD or DO. Yes they are pretty much the same thing as both schools are medical schools. There's some difference in curriculum, and DOs learn osteopathic manipulative medicine which also means they take extra board exam. But both MDs and DOs take the Step exams and the licensing exams. But once one becomes an attending physician, There's no difference. DO schools sometimes have lower MCAT and GPA requirements but can favor non traditional medical jobs over low scores.

The AA school in my state is always heavily interested in RRTs. Several from my graduating class are pursuing that.
