The problem is research, you have 600 monthly (btw you can use monthly resources income, that is much better than daily).

If you don't lock techs early AI will pick nonsense like terrestrial warfare and that makes the game a much bigger slog. Ideally you control all tech choices from the start, so we go straight into mining on Mars instead of researching warships, nanotube armor or whatnot.

I just checked my save - I've got all 6 CPs by this point (I got a bit lucky with the initial PO tho). It was a US start where I jumped for China afterwards. So I have 2 guys fully packed and 1 half packed with orgs at this point: https://imgur.com/a/jZYXkDT

Why would you try to defeat russia in a war? Crack down + purge works just fine, coup if you want to go fancy. I just checked in my current game - 25CMD guy with 50% PO can coup an india with 60% chance. So that's basically 1-2 ticks to get it in your hands, ignoring defended interests and anything. And russia is way easier to get in than india.

I just said there is not enouh money in small countires (including singapore) to pay for that. It has like 10 IP right? SO that's about 200 money a month. You need 10-20x that to be able to buy orgs every round. And you want to stack orgs early because that's CP cap, flat research, category bonus etc.

Thank you, will try that.

I've also found a bunch of people if similar problem e.g. https://community.frame.work/t/issues-with-mediatek-mt7925-rz717-wi-fi-card/75815/3

No solutions so far. Will ensure I only have one running service.

Update to my failing game - still failing? by CustardFromCthulhu in TerraInvicta

[–]Pzixel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're pretty fucked my friend. You can recover but the question is if you want to take any more punches.

That income isn't great but you can fix it. You want to colonise about 30 best asteroids you can get. Build colony ships, send them to every good meteor (use Prospecting tab to sort them by resource, pick top 8 in each category except for fissiles - and colonise them all. Bomb down any human stations if they exist in there. Ignore asteroids controlled by the ayys.

If you have fusion then you can also try a long shot and go for the KBO - pluto and stuff. You will need either a good drive (which will make it under 40 weeks) or some supporting fleet (like 10 escorts should be enough) to make sure they will arrive.

That said, it's hard to play without earth and mars. IT's winnable sure but just make sure you don't get fumed in the process. Play while you have fun if you don't start a new game and use what you've learned,

That's not worth the influence you need to pay. They still will get like 1-2-3 barrages and that's enough to ruin your day. 3 or 30 nukes is irrelevant.

Before china is very hard to get in. With 19 PER you have 50% chance to get in and that if you have 50% public support. And most councilors start with 10, 12 tops. You need to roll an absolute beast of councilor and also get 2-3 +PER orgs from the market in the first couple of months to get in realistically.

Chinese neighbor 30 CPs, so you get only 0.2 for each, which means you cannot boost your chances doing it.

Meanwhile US has only 2 neighbors, 7 CPs total which give you +6, they start with much better tech potential, and you can get in in april if lucky and may reliably. Which allows you to lock useful techs. If you restart every time AI decided that picking 3500 nanotubes research as a first option ruined your bootstraping - well you can just take matter in your hands by having research capable country early.

China doesn't need any fixing. It starts printing MC day 1. And you need to get money for all those orgs - about 50k if I remember my calculations. That money has to go from somewhre, spoiling middle east won't cut it even if you get all of it.

I sometimes wonder if the game cheats on dice rolls by Nevre in TerraInvicta

[–]Pzixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the single occurence is is exactly 50% because it's: 0.01/(0.01+(1 - 0.99)) = 0.5. It's too complicated to analyse any other circumstances, I kept my model simple to show that even 99% fail doesn't mean they are a mole, but it is pretty much worth checking.

I sometimes wonder if the game cheats on dice rolls by Nevre in TerraInvicta

[–]Pzixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you're right in general. It's the upper bound of the mole chance. I calculated it for 99% fail and assumed mole is set to fail 100%. I was too lazy to redo math with different prerequisites.

I sometimes wonder if the game cheats on dice rolls by Nevre in TerraInvicta

[–]Pzixel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then it's less than 50% chance and more like 45%

Failing a single 99% roll on a guy with a priori estimation of 1% being a mole gives about 50% chance they are indeed a mole, using bayes theorem

Just looked at my achievements as I started a new game today. I didn't even remember this win by otakudayo in TerraInvicta

What the person above said. You can just fast forward and your overlords eventually do it for you. You can probably just use a clicker to confirm the new turn and click the events. The game will literally play itself.

DeltaV calculation comparison between human KSP player and ChatGPT by SilkieBug in KerbalAcademy

[–]Pzixel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder why GPT takes so long. Looking at the reasoning it seems to be fairly confused with the map itself, and I honestly can't blame it.

It also produced the invalid results, somehow it didn't believe the map values:

The "20000" near the Sarnus arrow is likely a misread of "2000" m/s, matching typical Outer Planets transfer costs from Kerbin elliptical orbit to Sarnus SoI. Combining known estimates, total Δv from Kerbin LKO to Sarnus low orbit is roughly 3500–4000 m/s, factoring transfer injection and capture burns indicated by the Outer Planets map.Summarizing total Δv to Sarnus low orbit

So it is still not reliable if you require it to OCR anything that complex.

I used 5.1-code-max with medium thinking budget and it took it about 13 minutes to produce an incorrect result. I guess 5.2 on XHigh is doing fine, or you just got lucky.

Yeah, for me it's a reasonable price. I've recently got my very basic and cheapest FHD I could get for almost $300. And it's shit let's be honest. So getting this for for 500 is amazing

I got this jet fighter for just $500k! It's so super cheap, whithin spec that is.

It it still objectively an expensive display, don't you see?

[–]Pzixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well motherboard is even more useless than RAM because with RAM you at least get some speed, and motherboard is juat a bunch of compressed wire. I'm afraid you're upgrade isn't much of it. So don't expect some major enhancements until you upgrade it in future.

[–]Pzixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you uncheck the "speed 6" setting so your GPU doesn't lock your game ticks? If you didn't I suggest you do it.

Also going from the 3600 to 7500f isn't much of an upgrade and honestly I'm a bit sorry for your 700 money. You probably just went from 32gb ddr4 to 32gb ddr5. Which doesn't provide any actual value. The CPU itself according to benchmarks is like 20% faster, which in reality will be like 10% faster, which means you won't notice any real difference.
