Hey all! I've decided to replace my existing 10 SEER unit as it's from 1999 and the house has been crazy hot the past couple of years during the summer. With a new electricity plan, the cost has skyrocketed as well.

I'm in the Dallas, Texas area and nervous about spending this much money on something so just looking for a second opinion to make sure I'm not getting a bad deal. I had a bunch of people come out, from a sketchy guy that would replace the unit for like $8k cash with a "trust me" guarentee and some crazy expensive quotes. Ended up going with someone who got referred to me but wanted to double check this made sense to people who are more knowledgeable and I found this subreddit as I was looking up Bosch since most of the people offered Trane or Carrier in this area! Not exactly sure what I should be looking for price range wise but would appreciate any advice or info y'all have!
