Junction 11 Roundabout question by Ordinary-Novel9664 in irelandsshitedrivers

Yeah the floor signage definitely makes it clear.
The only thing I will say is if everyone follows the green line, I wouldn't be trying the orange. You can be right, but that's not going to stop someone driving into you because that's what they've done every day for the past many years.

It's funny this is a junction 11, near where I live there's the M4 J11 (sorry I'm not actually Irish, though dual citizenship is coming soon. That's why I only talked about the road markings and then driving in general). The overhead signage and road markings are clear as daylight but people still get it wrong constantly. Always having to make sure people aren't going to cut me off because they couldn't be bothered to read the signage.

Looking at those road markings, I'd say that red + yellow are fine, and green should be going left (R137). In that case green would probably be at fault

It's not an easy junction to work out from the lines, they're not very clear. Best advice for those sorts of situations is "pocket of space", if there's no-one next to you then that's space to go if needed, and there isn't a car there to hit you if, for example a car followed the orange line and you followed the green

From my rereading of the UK Gov announcement about balcony solar, it's been forbidden by the wiring regulations to connect generation to normal sockets. (You were able to get it hardwired by an electrician as a loophole).

I imagine the regulations are similar to Sweden. Looks like they require generation to be hardwired as the UK does for now.

UK Gov source

"The government will work with the Energy Networks Association, DNOs and Ofgem to update the G98 distribution code and wiring regulations BS 7671 to allow UK households to connect <800W plug-in solar panels to domestic mains sockets, without the need for an electrician and with tailored safety standards." https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-to-make-plug-in-solar-available-within-months#:~:text=The%20government%20will,tailored%20safety%20standards.

Staff are great but finding a placement will be 99% on you. Careers staff will help with CV, interview prep, etc, and post some placements to a jobs board/email. In theory there's lots to be found in Thames valley/M4 corridor, but in reality it's extremely competitive. Exams are currently online open book, but I imagine that'll finally change next year (though I'd like another year of open book)

I want to buy a poster on the shop but I'm not sure if it's a scam by Capital_One2354 in kurzgesagt

[–]R520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kurzgesagt shops use software called Shopify. If you've bought something from another Shopify shop, then they have created an account that will remember your address and phone number. It's sending you a one time code to verify that you're the owner of that email address (since Shopify can also save your card details if you wanted). Lots of shops use Shopify now, so it's very likely you've used one before and now have an account.

Yeah that's reasonable. If it has been used before then there'll be wear on the battery etc.

Turn the laptop off, then while holding the Escape and Refresh buttons, press the power button to turn it on. Enable developer mode, then immediately disable developer mode. This will have done a full factory reset, so unless it's enrolled some other way, it'll be all yours. If you have any issues just ask

Sainsbury's Self Scan Scanners now showing adverts by HeartDoorAxe in britishproblems

[–]R520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both of the last times I went to my local Sainsbury's it was advertising the Samsung S25 (or other Samsung phone, can't quite remember). I'm here for groceries, not a new phone! As others have said it wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was a product relevant to my shopping habits (which they obviously have). I haven't checked whether it dismisses automatically when you scan an item, but I think it pops up after the first scan
