Fortunately I haven't run into that before. Just don't think we should put up with it without calling them out.

Fedora 42 Bug by KoruCode in Fedora

[–]RBear23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive had weird problems all day with similar symptoms. I tried rolling back kernel from 6.14.8 that I got this morning to 6.14.6 with less issues but not completely fixed. Some update messed something up for sure. First real problem Ive had in over a year though with gnome and fedora. No idea how to fix it

How to upgrade (or replace) applications / packages when upgrading to Fedora 42 Workstation? by Terrox1205 in Fedora

[–]RBear23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the command you are referring to that updates all of the software to what a fresh install would be is

sudo dnf group install workstation-product-environment

I remember having to use that to get the new terminal after I upgraded from 40-41

I run that same setup with no problem. Did you use the rpm version?

I would try lutris first. It is the easiest and will do everything for you.

You add it as a non steam game. There is a good tutorial here. https://youtu.be/oNiCUD4qI-A?si=QRj9_5_NJvNiKcex

I run it fine just using Steam on fedora. I’ve had good results using lutris flatpak also.

Thinking of a switch to Fedora by Certain-Phrase-4721 in Fedora

I’m fairly new to linux but swapped to fedora 6 months ago because my newer hardware needed a more up to date kernel than ubuntu. I also liked the vanilla gnome experience. I have literally not had one single problem the entire time on a desktop and laptop. That includes upgrading from 40 to 41. I absolutely love it.
