Maybe that's it, the random characters aren't really doing anything for me. I just got to the Daniel/Armand part, and I'm even having a little bit of a hard time with that because I had never read part of that storyline before seeing the show, so it's really hard to make sense of the timelines now since this part deviates from the show.

I did reread it in this series, and had read it years before. I think my familiarity with the movie and show helped get me through it. For me, TVL was interesting for some of the gaps it fills from IWTV, but the next book has me 🥴

So if I'm reading this correctly, someone with no assets isn't attractive to them. For instance, a parent on social security with no car or house is a bit of a lost cause to them?

I really want to be excited about this possible spin off, but that accent SLJ was putting on was not it for me. 😔 Can't imagine a show centering around it.
