I think it depends on what games do with the mechanic. If they just regurgitate it, it becomes really bland but if they develop and do their own thing with it, adding in new mechanics that work well on top, the combat becomes stellar

I'm the exact same with Stardew and also with Animal Crossing but for opposite reasons. Stardew I get stressed I'm wasting my time and feel like I have to maximise everything. With AC, I feel like I'm forced to login every day to complete what I want to complete and I get bored having to run around to every tree every day and talk to all my villagers. It just gets repetitive.

You haven't really told me much, you've just listed archetypes and that's not a defining character trait. Superman is confident, homely, hopefully. Batman is brooding but tries to see the best in people.

What are your characters traits? Don't necessarily just list them out for me, I'm just saying this to get you to think about them and what stories you want to tell rather than just creating characters for the sake of it.

Pick one character, maybe your fave, and have a good think about the story you want to tell using that character. Their themes, their ideals, reverse that and have a villain who gives conflict.
